2026 ISU International Adult Competition - Oberstdorf | May 17-22

The second Mexican girl in this group, Mariana de LEON HERNANDEZ (MEX), is skating to "Last Dance" by Donna Summer!!!

What a fun programme!!!

The only complaint I have is that the music faded out at the end. I never like that at the best of times, but definitely not in skating programmes.

Ah, she has quite a few fellow skaters (not just Mexicans) in the crowd with her. (I suspect that it was the same case with the crowd with the previous Mexican girl, but I didn't notice then).

She goes into 2nd position.

Everybody is delighted!

We finish Group 3 with Monika STEFFEN (CHE), who is another one that is wearing a white dress that blends into the ice.

Skating to "One Day I'll Fly Away". And for a change, it doesn't merge into "The Show Must Go On".

The skating was really good.

I think it was 6th position. My mind just went blank immediately after the graphic disappeared.

Why does Amy LAU (CAN)'s name sound familiar?

Anyway, she was wearing a black dress.

As well as the people that were with her, there were two cut-out faces being held up.

She goes into 17th position.

I remember seeing Agnese D'AMORE (GBR) before. She's actually Italian, but has been living in England for years.

What a strange costume! It's a jumpsuit, but not like any jumpsuit I've ever seen before. I have no idea how you would describe it.

I love the music!

Nicole STELEA (GBR), who we saw skate earlier, is one of the people with her.

And again, I've forgotten what position she went into.

@elektra blue - we've just had one of your skating wishes!

Olga TOMASHOVA (UKR) was skating to "Poor Unfortunate Souls" from "The Little Mermaid"!!!

She was wearing a beautiful black dress with blue pattern.

It was a great programme!!! I absolutely loved it!!!

I think it is a big crowd in the results area. The back row are completely hidden by two massive Ukrainian flags!

She goes into 5th position.

CaroLiza_fan

And another of your favourites, @elektra blue.

The sole Japanese skater in this competition, Yurika ITO (JPN), is skating to "Prince Ali" from "Aladdin".

Ah, it then turned into "Friend Like Me" (Robin WIlliams' version).

She is wearing a gorgeous royal blue costume with white pattern on the top.

Such a pity about the fall. (I'm nearly sure it was the first fall we've had today!) Because it was so enjoyable a programme.

Ah, her Japanese flag has bee nsigned by a whole pile of people.

She goes into 15th position.

I know people get fed up with "Exogenesis Symphony" because it gets skated to so much. But, it really is beautiful.

Nadia de BLANK (BEL) was wearing a dress that is mainly black, but has a gold pattern and gold skirt part.

Everything about that was beautiful.

Is it just me, but does the girl at the end with the middle sized flag look very like Miriam Ziegler (AUT)? In fact, I would swear that it was Miriam!

She goes into 4th position.

Awww. She nearly got wrapped up in the big flag because of the way the girl holding it was celebrating!

Ramona BARNBECK (CHE) was Defying Gravity

Wearing a beautiful green dress. I was half expecting a "Riverdance" programme. But, the colour makes sense for this too. (And I still haven't seen "Wicked").

I was really enjoying that! Could it not have been a longer programme?

And now that the programme is finished, they are playing "Asereje" in the arena! Bit of a contrast.

Iris KALKMAN (CHE), the first girl to skate today, is in the back row.

Ramona goes into 2nd position.

Evangeline HENRY (GBR) is wearing a dress in various shades of blue. With sparklies!

Don't know the music, but it was beautiful. Whatever it is, I would like to see more people skating to it.

She was very disappointed when she came into the results area. She is snuggling up to her coach while waiting for her scores. She looks like she is close to crying.

There are four other skaters sitting with her as well. After she gets her scores, one of them pats her on the leg as a means of consoling her.

She goes into 16th position.

She is still very disappointed.

CaroLiza_fan

Monica KOCH (USA) is also wearing a beautiful dress in a few shades of blue.

Don't know the music, but it is too techno for my taste.

Nevertheless, she was good.

Her coaches look familiar. But I can't place who they are. Going by their interraction when he came in, I'm pretty sure the second guy with her is her other half.

She goes into 2nd position.

CaroLiza_fan

And another piece of music that people get fed up with hearing because it is skated to so much, but I don't mind because it works so well.

The final Swiss skater, Sarina COLLET (CHE) is wearing a black dress with sparklies.

And as well as a crowd, she has a Stitch!

I don't know what is going on off camera, but they keep on laughing at something!

And trying to work it out meant I forgot to look at her position!

CaroLiza_fan

We finish the competition with three German girls.

Katharina DOYLE (DEU) wearing a reddish-orange dress for a "Lion King" programme.

Although I wasn't sure about the costume fitting the programme, she skated well!

Oh, the announcer made a mistake. She said 2nd position, and then corrected it to 22nd position.

Katharina and her entourage were still happy, though.

CaroLiza_fan

Jennifer SCHEUPLEIN (DEU) wearing a bown top with one sleeve, a single black glove on the other hand, and a black skirt.

I have never heard the song she was skating to before, but I loved it.

I really enjoyed that.

Katharina DOYLE (DEU) who skated just before her has joined her, along with two coaches.

They all look so happy. Except the bloke, who looks serious.

She goes into 30th position.

CaroLiza_fan

And we finish with Jessica RIEDEL (DEU) skating to "You Raise Me Up". And I think it is the original version, as sung by Belfast man Brian Kennedy.

She is wearing a wishy-washy bluey-white dress that blends into the ice.

That was beautiful.

Awwwww. As well as her entourage, she has two toddlers with her!

She goes into 4th position. (I think. I was distracted by the kids!)

CaroLiza_fan

Onto the Bronze skaters, and we start with the first Men's competition of the day. A group of 8 Bronze III + IV skaters doing their Free Skate.

CaroLiza_fan

Now that is how you start a competition!

Derek WALKER (CAN) was wearing all black. And skating to "Need You Tonight" by INXS.

CaroLiza_fan

This is the second time I've seen Massimiliano PITTA (CHE) and known what he was skating to before the music started! The last time it was a "Back To The Future" programme, and this time it was a "Greatest Showman" programme.

OK, so it was a red waistcoat rather than a red coat. But, he still looked like a circus master.

That was great!

I think he has the biggest crowd with him that I've seen today.

He goes into 2nd position.

Caroliza_fan

Heiko KUMKAR (DEU) was wearing all black. But this time it was a black showman's coat.

Skating to "Love Runs Out" by One Republic. A song that is made gor great skating programmes!

That was really enjoyable.

I had to pop out when he was getting his scores, so missed his position.

CaroLiza_fan

We actually got a preview of what John DARNTON (GBR) would be skating to at the end of the previous programme.

"Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol. Yes, the original by my fellow countrymen, not a cover.

I loved it!

I actually recognise him from a few years ago. I think he competes in a partnership as well.

I think he went into 2nd position.

CaroLiza_fan

I'm not sure what the music that Jose GALLEGO (ESP) is sskating to is, but it and his costume makes me think "Three Musketeers", or something similar.

That was good.

And Jana PŘIBYLOVÁ (CZE) that I mentioned yesterday is amongst the people sitting with him (and from what I remember from previous editions, I think that is her daughter beside her. She competes as well).

He goes into 4th position.
