2026 ISU International Adult Competition - Oberstdorf | May 17-22

Second "Defying Gravity" of the day, this time courtesy of the sole Japanese girl in this competition, Chikako SUZUKI (JPN).

She is also wearing a black dress, but she has a light green petticoat underneath it to fit the theme of the programme.

I preferred the version of the song that was skated to earlier. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this programme.

She goes into 2nd position.

Hey, I thought this was an Adult skating competition. Not a Junior skating competition.

TSE Ka Yan (HKG) looks VERY young!

She is wearing a traditional dress which is mainly yellow, but has a blue and black pattern, and blue and black segments to the skirt part. She also has a lovely tiara. And she is skating to traditional music.

Everything about that programme was beautiful!

What a massive crowd in the results area.

She goes into the lead.

They are all delighted!

I really enjoyed that too! The Swiss woman earlier was also fantastic! Thank you for bringing this competition to my attention, it's been a pleasure to watch this division so far!

When I saw Celia BERRY (GBR), I was expecting an Irish programme. Because, apart from the fact that her dress is black, the whole look is just what you would expect from somebody competing in an Irish Dancing competition.

But, she was actually skating to "Vogue".

It was a fun programme, that helped me forget that I am fed up with "Vogue" programmes.

She goes into position.

I have definitely seen Anastasiia BELOKUROVA (UKR) doing this programme before. Because I remember this costume (how could you forget it?!)

She is wearing a brown bra and green skirt, and skating to "Roar" by Katy Perry.

I remember loving it before, and I loved it again now!

She goes into the lead.

Two Ukrainians in a row!

I don't know the music that Kseniia BORYSENKO (UKR) was skating to. But, I suspect it is a song that must Ukrainians would know.

That was really good too.

There is a massive crowd in the results area, including Anastasiia who has stayed on.

Ukraine 1-2.

Alev SAHIN (CAN) is wearing what looks like a full wedding dress!

I love the music.

They were too quick announcing the scores. Her entourage were still coming into the results area!

She goes into 10th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Am I imagining things, or is Eva-Maria KLEINER (DEU) wearing a Spongebob Squarepants dress?!

I have never watched the programme, so I don't know if the music is from it. But, it was certainly different. There was a bit of everything in there.

It was good.

She goes into 8th position.

Can you get a bigger contrast in what the two German girls that ended this group were wearing?

Josephine SZIGETI (DEU) is wearing a gorgeous black dres with silver pattern.

She is skating to a cover of Linkin Park's "In The End". It started off as a trailerised female version, and then turned into a techno male version.

I wasn't keen on the music, but I loved the dress and the skating.

And I missed her position.

CaroLiza_fan

OK. I missed the start of Tetiana HRYSHCHENKO (UKR), but she was skating to a very different song based on "Sway". (I've heard it before, but can't remember who sings it or what it is called).

She is wearing a deep red dress.

She goes into the lead.

Thank you Samantha PEDDER (GBR)! We need more Fleetwood Mac in figure skating!

She was skating to "Don't Stop", and she was having a great time!

She is wearing a dress that is supposed to look like a black top with orange cuffs and an orange skirt.

I absolutely loved everything about that!

Taking longer to get her scores than others of late.

She goes into 9th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Debbie CHEN (CAN) skating to "Rise Up" by Andra Day.

She is wearing a dress that from a distance looked like a black top with blue skirt, but it is actually red at the top and grey in the skirt area.

That was really good.

She goes into the lead.

And she was so shocked!

CaroLiza_fan

I'm disappointed. When you skate to a song that has an iconic video, why not go for the same look?

Ann-Kathrin SCHWARZ (DEU) was wearing a magenta dress with silver pattern, and skating to "Man, I Feel Like A Woman" by Shania Twain.

She skated it well, though.

She goes into 8th position.

The final skater in this group, YU Meihui (DEU), has withdrawn. So we finish the penultimate group with Karen Gisela GUTIERREZ BLANCARTE (MEX).

I like the shape of her dress, but that is about the only good thing I can say about it. The pattern is an absolute plaster.

But, I really enjoyed the music and the skating!

She only has her two coaches with her.

She goes into 2nd position.

CaroLiza_fan

We start with the first of two British skaters in this group, Laura SOMERVILLE (GBR).

She is wearing a VERY pale blue and white dress. The type that belends into the ice.

She is skating to a song I had never heard before, "Tired" by Alan Walker.

Pity about the fall. And she was running out of steam towards the end.

Awwww, she is holding a big Scottish flag!

And I was that busy trying to see if I could recognise anybody amongst all the people with her that I missed her position!

CaroLiza_fan

Wow! A "Wicked" programme that isn't to "Defying Gravity".

Joke BORNAUW VANDERLOCHT (BEL) was skating to "Popular"

She is wearing a deep red dress.

I still reckon that is Miriam Ziegler with her.

She goes into 14th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Jessica FLORIN (CHE) wearing a gold tassle dress, and skating to "Let's Get Loud" by Jennifer Lopez.

Programmes to that song are always great and fun, and this was no exception.

And the way her pony tail and tassles were moving when she was spinning!

Big crowd. Including the circusmaster from the Men's competition earlier. And a German flag as well as the Swiss flag.

She goes into 4th position.

CaroLiza_fan

The final British girl, Jess PARKER (GBR), was wearing a bluey-pink dress.

She was skating to a song I never heard before, "I Love You, I'm Sorry" by Gracie Abrams. But, it was beautiful.

In fact, the whole programme was.

She goes into 14th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Katarzyna GODEK (POL) wearing a dress that was mainly black, but the skirt part was silver. She was definitely goring for the Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast At Tiffany's" look.

She was skating to "Ain't Misbehaving (I'm Saving My Love for You)" (sorry, don't know who was singing it). You don't often hear this sort of music in figure skating, but I would like to see it more.

And she has a cuddly pierogi!

She goes into 5th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Edythe NEILSON (USA) wearing a red dress

She was skating to "Jupiter" from Gustav Holst's "Planet Suite", (It was the bit that became "I Vow To Thee My Country").

I wasn't fussed on this particular version of the music. But, it was skated well.

And I missed the position.
