2026 ISU International Adult Competition - Oberstdorf | May 17-22

A little surprising to see Fletcher Lu of Canada skating to "Born to Make History" from the Yuri on Ice anime! I don't think the outfit (black suit with a white tie) has anything to do with the anime, but it's been years since I've watched it. He fell at one point, but still skated decently. :)

Maraviglia of Italy skated to a Queen medley of "We Are the Champions" and "Don't Stop Me Now!"

Warnholz of Germany skated to some really nice piano and violin music...possibly some sort of soundtrack?

Peltonen from Finland skating to "We Go Together" from Grease...and wearing a red flannel shirt

Into 3rd place

Jose Hinojos of the US, skating to a fast-paced classical-esque violin piece. He fell at one point, but I gotta admire his way of attacking and committing to the music. :)

Into 4th place

Stiegler of Germany skating to "I Have Nothing" by Whitney Houston. Looks like a waiter: black vest, black pants, black bow tie, white shirt. Nice spread eagle and spiral!!!

Into 8th...makes sense, since he seemed a little off-balance outside of the cool spread eagle and spiral

Salvatore Damiano of Italy skating to "Sex Bomb"...Kinda sad to see him finishing after the music ended. :(

Into 4th place

Warner of Great Britain skating to "Wine, Beer, Whiskey" by Little Big Town. Fun song to skate to, I hadn't heard it before! (I'm sure he likes the current ISU podium music, lol)

Into 9th place...(jumps appeared underrotated)

Thank you for holding the fort, @yuumagical.

What a song to finish the competition with! "Wine, Beer, Whiskey" by Little Big Town. The lyrics had me laughing!

Mark WARNER (GBR) is wearing a purple cowboy shirt with white pattern, and black trousers.

The skating was good.

He goes into 9th position.

I thought about "Thunder" too when I heard "Wine, Beer, Whiskey"!!! (It was my first time hearing it too).

Anyway, onto the oldest of the Gold level ladies. A group of 4 Gold V Ladies, each from a different country.

I don't know what Monica BROWN (GBR)'s costume has to do with "East Of Eden", but I absolutely love that music, so I am not going to complain about it.

She is wearing a black dress with what looks like a turquoise sports bra over it. And a gold tiara.

Beautiful skating to go with the beautiful music.

I am struggling to find out what the song that Giovanna MOHLER-HAUSHEER (CHE) was skating to was. But I loved it!

She is wearing a black dress with yellow pattern and yellow trim.

It looked like it was hard going for her. Such as having difficulty when she lifting her foot up with her hand. But, she fought her way through it.

She goes into 2nd position.

Annette KONSTANZER (DEU) was standing there so peacefully in her starting position, and then loud music started and scared the life out of me!

She was skating to a female version of "Sway". Not sure who was singing it (there have been so many over the years). But I am really intrigued, as towards the end the chorus was sung in French. I hadn't heard that done before.

She was wearing a black and purple dress.

That was great!

She goes into the lead.

And I am not one bit surprised!

We finish off this competition with Carolee KNESS PURDIE (USA) wearing a red dress with black trim.

She was skating to instrumental music. I haven't heard it before, but I liked it. But then it was replaced by a song. I haven't been able to find what it was, but it was a modern tango.

She was great too.

I don't know which way this will go.

She wins.

What a reaction!!!

Resurfacing now, then we finish the day by going back to Artistic Free Skates.

We finish the day with two Class II Ladies Artistic Free Skate competitions. First 30 ladies at Silver level, and then 6 ladies at Gold level.

We start with Jennifer NUTTALL (AUS) wearing a black dress.

Skating to "Gravity" by Sara Bareilles.

A beautiful way to start the evening competitions.

An now we have a song that was a real warhorse a couple of seasons ago, but which you hardly hear being skated to now. "Voilà" by Barbara Pravi.

Brought to us today by Julia WIES (DEU), who ie wearing a red dress.

That was good.

She goes into 2nd position.

Lenka ŠEMBEROVÁ (CZE) wearing a gorgeous magenta dress.

She is skating to "Never Enough" by Loren Allred. But, it started at a strange point in the song.

It's a big song, but the skating lived up to it.

She goes into the lead.

That was different. Claudia BRÜNN (DEU) started with her back to the camera.

Well, I suppose it did give us a good look at the pattern of the back of her white dress.

She was skating to Alexandra Burke's cover of "Hallelujah". Which is my favourite female version of it. But, there was a very rough edit near the end.

If you leave the edit aside, everything about that was beautiful.

She goes into the lead.

Monika SUSKA (POL) is wearing a very pale blue dress. And the reason is that she is skating to what I assume to be the Polish version of "Part Of Your World" from "The Little Mermaid".

No, it's not the Polish version. It's the Spanish version.

Such a pity she had a fall. Because everything was beautiful otherwise.

She goes into 5th position.

But she is happy.
