2026 ISU International Adult Competition - Oberstdorf | May 17-22

Patricia CLARKE (CAN) wearing a dress that is mainly orange, but with a black section around the middle.

Skating to a female cover of Nat King Cole's "Orange Coloured Sky". Which explains the costume.

I enjoyed that.

She goes into 8th position.

And to finish the competition, it's Julija BOGDANOVA (LAT). Who is wearing a dress that is mainly black but the end of the skirt part is red.

Techno tango with French vocals?! Not a description I would ever have thought I would be writing.

Yet, it worked. Very well, in fact.

I never thought I would actually like a techno programme. But, I liked this one. I think it was because it was not overbearingly so. The tango kept it in check.

She goes into 5th position.

Awwww, that's lovely. The announcer has come on to wish a child a happy birthday. And we can hear people singing "Happy Birthday To You" in the background.

Glad I kept the sound on and didn't wander off during this break.

And the resurfacing is only starting now. So, a bit of a wait yet.

Second competition of the day starting, and I still haven't finished this morning's part of the table for the OP! :drama:

Gold I+II Men's FS starting now. It's another combined competition, as there are only 7 of them altogether.

Damon PAUL (DEU) wearing a black top with sparklies and black trousers.

Different music. It's intstrumental, but I don't know how to describe it further. Well, it might be synthesised music. I don't know.

But, whatever it was, it made for a good programme.

After that interesting start, I wonder where the competition will go from here.

Marcin ZAMOJSKI (POL) is wearing a dark blue top and black trousers.

Beautiful instrumental music. And a beautiful programme as a whole.

And don't worry, getting into position went much better for him this morning than it did last night! (This is the guy that fell going to his start position).

So that is two good programmes he has had this week.

He goes into the lead.

CaroLiza_fan

And the dark costumes continue. Shi Ze NG (SGP) wearing a black top and black trousers.

Music from "East Of Eden".

Well, this music always produces beautiful programmes. And this programme has joined the list.

He goes into the lead.

Can't say I'm surprised. As I said, "East Of Eden" programmes.

CaroLiza_fan

Przemyslaw FAJER (POL) wearing a black T-shirt, black fingerless gloves, and black trousers,

Skating to "Always" by Bon Jovi.

I love rock programmes. And I loved this programme.

I've complained a few times this week about music fading out. Well this time, it took a long time to fade out, which meant he was sitting in his finishing position for a good while by the time the music finally disappeared.

He goes into 4th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Robert NIEMANN (DEU) wearing a dark blue top and black trousers.

Skating to piano instrumental music. Hang on, a violin has joined the piano in the second half.

That was beautiful.

A Berlin flag being held up behind him.

Actually, is it a dark green top and dark blue trousers? It's amazing how different lighting can change the colours we see.

He goes into 4th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Mateusz KOKOSINSKI (POL) wearing a dark greyish blueish goldish top (I have no idea what colour it is supposed to be!) and black trousers.

I like this music. A lot. Very intense and dramatic. Has to be from an action film.

Oh, hard fall on a jump attempt early on. And he slipped and fell near the end.

Apart from the falls, it was great! But, the falls will be costly.

He goes into 5th position.

You may well celebrate!

Eric COOK (USA) has the white framed sunglasses on again! But this time he is wearing a purple shirt, long black waistcoat, and dark blue trousers.

I have no idea what the concept of this programme was meant to be. Layer upon layer of music and vocals. There was so much going on with the music that it just became background noise.

He had a couple of stumbles. But otherwise was good.

I had a feeling last night that there were a few family members amongst the crowd in the results area. And now, they are sitting together holding up a "Detroit vs Everybody" flag.

He finishes in 2nd position.

We stay with the Gold level Free Skates, but move onto the class I Ladies. 14 of them, so two groups of 7.

And again the Pannepackers are in different groups.

CaroLiza_fan

Tania MARTINEZ COLOMBRES (MEX) wearing a gorgeous black dres where the shoulder area and most of the back has a gold pattern.

💃 Olè music.

What a beautiful way to start this competition. Everything about that programme was beautiful.

This event is making me realise just how much skating talent there is in Mexico.

CaroLiza_fan

Selina FONG (USA) is wearing a beautiful white dress with black pattern around the neckline.

This is another programme where there is dialogue over background music. But, thankfully, the music drowns out the dialogue. So, I don't know what they were on about.

The skating was good So, all in all, I did actually enjoy the programme.

Taking a VERY long time for the scores to come through. This is rarely a good sign.

She goes into 2nd position.

CaroLiza_fan

Bethan GOSLING (GBR) wearing a black dress with very complicated white pattern.

When I saw the dress, I instantly thought of 1920's Germany. But whilst the music is probably from that time period, I don't think it is from that location.

That was an enjoyable programme.

She goes into 3rd position.

CaroLiza_fan

Kwankamon THANADKAH (DEU) wearing a dress where the top half is purple with sparklies, and the bottom half is pale pink.

It's a long time since I heard this music with vocals. Hang on, it's switched from French to English vocals.

That was a beautiful programme to leave for my dinner on.

She goes into the lead.

And deservedly so!

CaroLiza_fan

Back now in time for Eleonora VASQUES (BEL), who is wearing a beautiful black dress with gold pattern.

The music in the first half was good, but the wailing over it wasn't. The vocalist sounded in pain! But then I heard cash registers, and smiled because I knew this meant "Money For Nothing" by Dire Straits was starting.

Fall on a jump early on. And another just after the change of music.

It's a pity, because the rest of the programme was good. But the falls will be costly.

That's funny. There are two Belgian flags being held up by her team-mates. But the Italian skater sitting beside her is holding up an Italian flag. Given Eleonora's surname, I would have thought if there were any other flags, it would be either a Basque flag or a Spanish flag.

She goes into 10th position.

CaroLiza_fan

I missed Alexendra PANNEPACKER (USA) while eating, but now it is the turn of Lauren PANNEPACKER (USA). She is wearing a dress that is mostly dark blue, but the skirt part turns light blue.

Yet another different version of "Cry Me A River"! This time a trailerised female version.

She looked frustrated when she finished.

She had her head in her hands momentarily in the results area. But she was just being theatrical with her friends and sister. There was great craic going on amongst everybody.

She goes into 4th position.

Talk about a shocked reaction! She wasn't expecting to be that high!

CaroLiza_fan

Vivian MAI (DEU) wearing a beautiful royal blue dress.

Skating to "A Million Dreams" from "The Greatest Showman". But not sure who is singing it. It wasn't the version from the film, anyway.

That was beautiful.

She goes into 4th position.

CaroLiza_fan

The competition finishes with Andreanne MOISAN (CAN), who is wearing a burgundy dress.

Another "Cry Me A River". But, this time it's Michael Bublé's version with the vocals removed. I never thought I would say this, but I prefer it with the vocals. The music during the verses is, well, boring.

But the skating wasn't. It was good.

She finishes in 12 position.
