2026 ISU International Adult Competition - Oberstdorf | May 17-22

We now start an Artistic Free Skate quintuple-bill. But this is the only one that is for Singles Skaters. The four competitions that follow are for Pairs Skaters.

To take us up to the Pairs competitions we have the youngest Silver ladies. There were supposed to be 27 Silver I ladies, but skater #3 Katharina DOYLE (DEU) has withdrawn.

Sarina COLLET (CHE) wearing a dress that is mainly magenta, but has a black section and an illusion mesh section in the top right hand side. And matching magenta gloves.

I am probably wrong, but I have a feeling that this music is from "Kung Fu Panda".

That was a good start to the competition.

OK. She has a cuddly bull with her. Actually reminds me of the Bully cuddly toys that they gave out to contestants on darts gameshow "Bullseye":

You can't beat a bit of bully!

Nicole STELEA (GBR) wearing a red dress.

Skating to "Dernière Danse" by Indila. I have always loved that song. But the programme was too short. I was left wanting more!

Well, I enjoyed what we did get.

She geos into 2nd position.

Melissa SARGENT (CAN) wearing a dress that is mainly black , but has a pink section around the neck.

Skating to "Gut Punch" by Nick Jonas. Boys but that is a name I haven't heard in donkey's years!

The skating was good. But the music sounded too much like an Ed Sheeran song for my liking.

She goes into the lead.

When Veronica ZAPPAROLI (ITA) was sitting on the ice in her starting position, Valentina Marchei came into my head!

She was wearing a dress where the top half was white, and the bottom half was black.

Skating to the version of "I Will Follow Him" from "Sister Act"

Costume change!! The white section came down to reveal a gold dress!

That was absolutely brilliant!!!

She goes into 2nd position.

Two costume changes in a row! And both from Italian girls (albeit representing different countries).

Agnese D'AMORE (GBR) was wearing a very short black dress with orange gloves.

She was skating to "Cruella De Vil". And I was wondering "What has this costume got to do with '101 Dalmatians'?"

Well, she then pulled a dalmatian patterned skirt out from her belt! How she had it hidden in there, I will never know!

That was absolutely brilliant too!!!

She goes into 3rd position.

Una ZSURAVLEVA (DEU) wearing a blue dress with mumus. (Is that how it's spelt? It's been that long since Liza Tuktamysheva's that I can't remember).

Don't know this music. But I am picturing wooden toys in my head.

That was good!

There is a dog wandering around the results area. A real one.

She goes into 3rd position.

Mariana de LEON HERNANDEZ (MEX) wearing a black dress with sparklies on the top half.

Skating to a song in Spanish. No idea what it is or who is singing, but it is really beautiful.

And so was the skating to go along with it.

She goes into 2nd position.

CaroLiza_fan

Kira STEFFEN (DEU) wearing a long dark blue dress which is shoulderless on the right hand side, but has a longer skirt part on that side. And blue lipstick.

I don't know what she was skating to, because the singer was growling at some stage in every line, and I couldn't make out enough to do a lyrics search.

When she came out, I thought of Gabriella Papadakis. Because I remember her wearing a similar dress. Plus, they have similar hairstyles.

That was beautiful.

She goes into 4th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Katharina URBANCZYK (DEU) wearing a white blouse and brown shorts.

Skating to "Stand Up" by Cynthia Erivo. I know the song, but I've never seen anybody skate to it before.

It was a good choice. This programme really worked!

She goes into 6th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Iris KALKMAN (CHE) wearing a dress where the top half is magenta, and the the bottom hald is black.

I don't think you can find three pieces of music that are so contrasting.

From "The Nutcracker", to a song that sounded like Boyz II Men, to Jamiroquai.

So surreal.

She goes into 5th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Jesica ZABLAH (MEX) wearing a dress where the top half was pale pink and the bottom half was purple.

Skating to "Dog Days Are Over" by Florence + The Machine.

I enjoyed that.

She goes into 8th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Carly BROX (CAN) wearing a very pale blue dress that was lovely, but seriously blended into the ice.

"Highs & Lows" by Emeli Sandé. Never heard this song before, and I'm not sure it works for skating to.

But, she skated well.

She goes into 3rd position.

That is a skater that was not expecting anything near that! What a reaction!

CaroLiza_fan

Thank you Jessica RIEDEL (DEU)!!!

She was skating to "Tango De Roxanne" with the vocals removed. And it made all the difference.

She was wearing a red and black dress.

I really enjoyed that. I never thought I would ever say that about a "Tango De Roxanne" programme.

I take it the toddlers are her children.

She goes into the lead.

CaroLiza_fan

I predict another costume change from an Italian skater.

Silvia SCANAVIN (ITA) is wearing a dress where the top half is black and the bottom half is dark blue. But there is a big piece of white material over the front. (It is supposed to be an apron, but doesn't really look like one).

Wow! I was expecting a change, but not what we got! When she pulled down the white piece of material, it revealed a light blue dress.

Skating to "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" from "Cinderella"

I loved that!!!

She goes into 2nd position.

CaroLiza_fan

Naomi NEELEN (BEL) wearing a pink dress that starts darker at the top, and then gets lighter.

Skating to "Her" by Sophia Scott. Don't know the song at all.

She goes into 13th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Back-to-back Belgians. Nadia de BLANK (BEL) wearing a beautiful black dress.

I do know this song. But I don't know what it's called. And this song was mostly the instrumental section.

She goes into 7th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Gillian DARNTON-TAYLOR (GBR) wearing a dress where the top half is multi-coloured and the skirt part is black.

Skating to "The 20th Century Fox Mambo" from "Bombshell".

Why have I never heard this song before? And why have I never seen a skating programme to it before?

What a great song!!! I want to hear the whole thing now!

She goes into 16th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Olga TOMASHOVA (UKR) wearing a silver sparkly bra, black jacket, and black skirt.

Skating to "Uptown Funk" by Bruno Mars.

"Uptown Funk" always makes great programmes. But Olga went the extra mile with this one.

That was absolutely brilliant!!!

If this doesn't take the lead, I will not be a happy bunny.

OK, what is the crack with everybody putting their right hand up in a "halt" action.

Good! She does go into the lead.

And rightly so!

CaroLiza_fan

Rebecca TIWET (USA) wearing a black dress.

Skating to "Silent All These Years" by Tori Amos. First time hearing it, and it was a sweet enough song. But I don't think I could listen to it over and over again.

But she skated well to it.

She goes into 4th position.
