I’m not even as well-versed in classical music as you yet I’m still very annoyed by this. Why can’t musicians just create their own stuff instead of bastardizing something that was created centuries ago?

No, he is an only child. I'm introducing him to the joys of the JGP.

This was a problem earlier with the ladies but it wasn’t as bad. I’ve been watching the juniors regularly since 2021-22 season and I don’t recall any issues like this.

To be fair music covers, variations and redactions etc etc have been a part of the art form for a loooooong time now (Vaughan William anyone? or a piece being adapted for other instrumentation). And I do not imagine the musicians think they are bastardising.....

But this wasn't a good one.
