2026 Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships: General Info and Pregame Chat

One last thought.
Where the news. In the past leading up to Nationals there would be tons of articles regarding the prospective Olympians current and former world medalist and hopefuls.
Nothing not even a writeup about Nationals outside the one that U.s. figure skating wrote up

It is almost as dont exist or trying to write past results or skaters as current thinking what would have happen if skated.

I had to write down the TV schedule for other people just in case watch and no novice single listed on YouTube

Actually, there is seemingly no chance for Alisa to get her citizenship in time. She would have needed to have it by now. I have seen suggestions by some fans that the recent feature article is a p.r. way of highlighting Alisa/Misha's career accomplishments and potential in the lead-up to them defending their U.S. pairs championship.

Thank you. I do appreciate the fact that Some Single Novice skaters earn the right to skate at Junior single but not all.
The single skater that didnt earn the right.

The ratios for Novice singles, dance, and pairs are similar, though. The Novice dance and pairs events are only one warmup group. US Figure Skating is currently in the model of skaters below junior level qualifying for the national development team camp held along with nationals. There are many novice and intermediate skaters who qualified for the development event through the same process as junior and senior skaters did for nationals.

Editing to add/clarify:
6 Novice singles skaters qualified (compete integrated with junior)
5 Novice dance teams (separate event)
4 Novice pairs teams (separate event)
I assume dance and pairs are separate due to different program requirements.

She might got it already but holds off the announcement till the Nationals?

Lets hope our team gets to the next event safe and sound.!
This is what happens when the airlines believe their own air quality propaganda and dont make flight attendants wear masks during a flu outbreak. (Pilots get fresh air)

Brandon was having a terrible time getting here. Hope he finally made it.

Without actually reading anything about this, that sounds like it's probably a "sick out". A collective bargaining strategy.

Actually....its hard to say what is going on....Spirit furloegh thousands of FAs to try and get profitable
Yesterday, it emerged that Frontier Airlines had ordered flight attendants to produce a doctor’s note for any sickness they take, as the carrier battles to reduce the number of call-outs.

The airline said the number of sick calls suggested not all were genuine, telling flight attendants in a very sharp memo:

“Let me make it clear: this trend is unacceptable and unsustainable. While illness and legitimate emergencies do happen, the frequency and timing of sick calls have reached a point where we can confidently say this protection is no longer being used as intended and where drastic action is now necessary.
Alaska airlines had one bad day, Saturday. which is suspicious.
Yet no one is talking about contract negotiations. And FAs on FB are saying they are really getting sick.
So right now, the truth is elusive. With only 25 percent of Americans getting flu shots, and FAs dealing in close proximity with hundreds of pax every day, it is possible the Alaska sick out is genuine.
There IS a flu test.
I have to wonder if the wearing of masks by FA s is discouraged, but no, the internet says it is not true.

And they infect the other passengers leading to outbreaks across the nation..we really want a lot of people to die...

I believe people are really ill judging by my daily work in the covid/flu/rsv lab where the numbers grow exponentially over the holidays. Flu A, Covid and Flu B are dominant right now with most having Flu A in metro Detroit. The majority of our tests in a night 70% are positive for one of the above - you can take my observations to the bank

USFSA has a somewhat different format for their results page this season.

The above .asp link shows only Junior and novices, but has a spot at the top to click for "championship" i.e. senior events.

When you click on Championships, you get a message that the event has not started, and there is no spot to click to get back to the Junior / novice listing. There are currently no senior start orders posted.

This Championships link has a .htm extension.

I don't like this new format at all.

Centene Center is a beautiful venue but was NOT prepared for a figure skating crowd. There was one restaurant and a grab and go place where you could get candy, soda, popcorn. I went to the restaurant as soon as the Novice pairs was finished and had 20 minutes until Junior Pairs started. Forty minutes and much grumbling later - and missing the first 6 Junior Pairs, I had my sandwich. A very good sandwich but I wasn't there to eat I was there to watch skating. It's a hockey arena. Hockey games usually last about 2 hours at most (I think) and people eat before or after. We were in the arena for 12 hours yesterday and there was only a 20-30 minute break between comps. And God forbid you try and bring in a candy bar or something. I'm just thankful there is only one more day. At least at Enterprise they're prepared for crowds and have multiple vendors.

Oh, I believe you! H3N2 varient K is a main one but not the only one for sure. Death count in the US is now jumped to 5,000. Vax rates are still 25 percent and also low in Canada. I do not understand this.
As a Pilot and aircraft mechanic, I just shake my head at people flying to family gatherings at T day, and XMAS. Its like they WANT to kill off grandma....stick their head in the sand...not care about others...
I think you are being way too kind in your word choice...."ill judging" I will always remember my mother dropping down to her knees an crying when we all could finally get the polio vax....now I see window stickers with an obscene gesture and the words "vax this".
I feel for the 11 million that have got sick so far (and that is only confirmed cases) ...the 120k that had to go into the hospital....time to dust off those covid respirators....

I think you misunderstood my phrasing. I meant that people are getting quite physically ill enough that they are coming to emergency - not as any commentary on their vaccine choices. Personally I am pro-vaccine for myself and others worried about getting sick, but I am done arguing with those who feel strongly opposed - come what may.

I brought in 2 diet cokes and a bunch of crackers and cheese. Not the best but enough to keep me from going hungry.

Also protein shakes of which I drank 1. I’d have liked to bring fruit but it would have gotten all over my stuff.
