2026 U.S. Nationals Practice Reports

High energy from the Peals - they look very ready here and have really understood the assignment. She has darkened her hair and they look very well matched. She looks very svelte.

Eva & Logan look slower in the first part after the Peals. Once Thunder kicks in, the energy picks up. For me it the program loses impact with this draw. They are either being cautious or conserving energy here.

Bratti & Somerville have done a lot of work with their Madonna program and it has more impact. Emily has embraces her diva-ness and love the dress. Fun without being forced. I like this music edit better than others - it shows off their speed and cheekiness well.

Emily sort of looks like Marina Klimova here....

Wolfkostin & Tsarevski are high octane energy from start to finish and Backstreet is quite effective for them. Dmitriy needs one of Alysa's razors for the sleeveless look. I really like this team too.

Oona & Gage Brown are next - I hate this music but their interpretation and skating skills cannot be denied. I find this has grown on me. They seem less wild and a bit more controlled in this runthrough. Their timing is so good to whatever music they skate to. I enjoy them a lot.

Resurface
Group C
11 Leah Neset / Artem Markelov
12 Caroline Green / Michael Parsons
13 Emilea Zingas / Vadym Kolesnik
14 Christina Carreira / Anthony Ponomarenko
15 Madison Chock / Evan Bates

Leah Neset / Artem Markelov are taking it slower and careful as they are first to skate. Back to backstreet again!

Caroline Green / Michael Parsons are in costume everytime. Love to watch Michael - he is so expressive . Love the pull through - so clever. They have upped the energy at the end with the techno section. They seem very ready to go.

New costumes I think for Christina Carreira / Anthony Ponomarenko. Hers looks better. Love her hairdo. The moves are not so frantic and focus on their nice edgework. This works so much better for them. Anthony looks a lot more comfortable in his more casual look.

Naomi & Lachlan are skating to John MIles - she gives me Kristi Yamaguchi vibes with her energy. He is also quite expressive for a pair guy. Her throw was good this morning.
I really liked this team when they skated at Finlandia in 2024 - they were clearly very excited to be there and their joy was contagious

Madison Chock / Evan Bates looks like no major changes. They look to be conserving energy. Twizzles look a bit more controlled, but nothing different here. Maybe a change to the final rotational lift. Well received by the crowd.

They are so easy to love. She is growing up and her look is going to be very nice. They always seem to enjoy their skating and work so well together. Now that she has grown up they seem to be better matched.

Group A
1 Isabella Flores / Linus Colmor Jepsen
2 Vanessa Pham / Anton Spiridonov
3 Raffaella Koncius / Alexey Shchepetov
4 Maia Shibutani / Alex Shibutani
5 Amy Cui / Jonathan Rogers
IMO Cui and Rogers are ones to watch for the near future - they are fantastic skaters and I think they will be rising stars

There is one point Caroline needs to watch - she has stumbled there (not on an element) twice this week.
