Piper Gilles & Paul Poirier, Canada
Ice dancers Piper Gilles & Paul Poirier represent Canada. Gilles was born on January 16, 1992, in Rockford, Illinois, while Poirier was born on November 6, 1991, in Ottawa, Ontario. Gilles & Poirier teamed up for the 2011-2012 season.
Piper & Paul are the 2026 Olympic bronze medalists, the 2024 and 2025 World silver medalists, the 2021 and 2023 World bronze medalists, the five-time Four Continents medalists (gold in 2024 and 2025, silver in 2014 and 2020, bronze in 2019) and twelve-time Canadian national medalists at the senior level. They are 5-time Canadian champions; and the 2012, 2017, and 2021 Skate Canada Challenge champions. The team's 2016 short dance was chosen by the ISU as the basis for the new Maple Leaf March Pattern Dance, currently under development.
