Entries up on Turkish website, buzpateni.org.tr

Thank you, @Keith.  :points: The link is now in the OP of the thread.

And the entries include the newly crowned Universiade Ice Dance Champions. ;)

Well, I already knew that because they both said on their profiles on the Torino 2025 website that they would be going to the Ephesus Cup afterwards. But, it didn't quite click with me just how soon afterwards it would be! :drama:

Thank you again

:thank:

Hey, wait - An Indonesian Ice Dance team?? 😲🇮🇩

Looks like it!

Both of them were Singles skaters until now.

I recognised the name of the girl, Tasya Putri Permatasari Setiabudiawan (to use her full name). Hardly surprising, as she competed internationally in Singles for many years. In fact, she was 12th in Senior Ladies at the Asian Open in September.

I just checked, and I actually posted a comment about her in a competition thread 8 years ago. But, I'll not quote it because it talks about her in the context of the rest of the group she was in, and so wouldn't make sense on it's own and without the videos.

I wasn't as familiar with the guy, Dwiki Eka RAMADHAN, but he hasn't competed internationally since 2017. According to the intro on his Instagram profile, he has continued to compete nationally, and has also been coaching.

Dwiki Eka's ISU Bio says when he and Maciko Audrey CHAN made their Junior GP debuts in Singles at at the 2014 Pokal der Blauen Schwerter, they became the first skaters to represent Indonesia at an ISU event. He went on to do other interntional events at Junior and Senior level, but we haven't seen her since.

Looking forward to seeing what Tasya and Dwiki Eka are like as Ice Dancers.

Just two days after the Universiade and the Volvo Open Cup finished, the Ephesus Cup in İzmir, Turkey, begins. But, unlike the Bavarian Open which started yesterday, this event is being streamed for free, on the Turkish Fed's YouTube channel.

Today starts with a Senor Singles double-bill, and then concludes with the Junior and Senior Ice Dancers. First up, it's the girls.

Livestream for the Senior Ladies SP is now on air.

Here is the link to today's livestream:

You can find all the other links you may need in the OP of this thread.

Hope this helps

:cheer: ALL THE BEST EVERYBODY!!! :cheer:

I doubt they must be having technical difficulties. Not only did it start 20 minutes late, but the camera pictures keep freezing. Yet, the countdown clock on the graphic continues counting, so the problem is not at my end.

Now everything has gone black, and there is a buffering circle.

Right, pictures back. Hope they have sorted everything out.

Oh, this is annoying me. I definitely know the coach sitting with Ceyda SAGLAM (TUR). She's one of the Turkish skaters that retired a few years ago. But, I can't put a name to the face.

Not a bad start to the event from the girl from a club in Istanbul.

Now for the only two international skaters competing in Senior Singles.

CaroLiza_fan

Make that one international skater. #3 Anastasia GRACHEVA (MDA) has withdrawn.

So, back to the Turkish skaters.

CaroLiza_fan

I didn't think Elif ÖZCAN (TUR), from a different club in Istanbul, was bad. But she went into 2nd position, a lot closer to the girl in last than the girl in the lead.

Salma AGAMOVA (TUR), who is actually from Russia, had a fall. But the rest of it was good enough to take the lead.

The final skater, Fatma Yade KARLIKLI (TUR), from Ankara, had a couple of falls. She has Tomi PULKKINEN sitting with her, and goes into 3rd position.

And that's it. We go straight onto the chaos category!

CaroLiza_fan

Well, we are used to seeing all of these boys on the international stage, so I am expecting it to be an exciting competition.

And Başar OKTAR (TUR), got us off to a good start!

Interstingly, he belongs to the same club in Ankara as the leader from the Senior Ladies SP, Salma AGAMOVA (TUR). So, is this a good omen?

CaroLiza_fan

I'll be honest, when Burak DEMIRBOĞA (TUR), from Kocaeli, started, I thought there were problems with the music. But, it was meant to be like that.

Unfortunately, he had a fall.

He goes into 2nd position, 11.44 points behind the leader.

CaroLiza_fan

Alp Eren ÖZKAN (TUR), from Istanbul, has missed a trick. He is skating to "Red Right Hand" by Nick Cave, and wearing a white shirt with black waistcoat, gloves and trousers.

He should have worn a red golve on his right hand! :drama:

Don't know what the second song was. But I really enjoyed that programme!

Tomi PULKKINEN and the girl I was referring to earlier whose name I can't remember are sitting with him.

He goes into 2nd position, 1.50 points behind Başar OKTAR (TUR).

Resurfacing now, and then back for some Social Dancing at the top of the hour.

CaroLiza_fan

Time for a double-bill of Social Dancing to finish the competitive action on Day 1. 8 Junior partnerships; followed by a resurfacing; followed by 8 Senior partnerships.

Interstingly, whereas all the Senior partnerships are from different countries, half of the Junior field are from the Czech Republic.

CaroLiza_fan

The sound disappeared at the start of teh Warm-Up. I hope it comes back for the programmes.

Never fear, it has.

CaroLiza_fan

We begin with the only Turkish partnership in the Junior Ice Dance. Irmak YÜCEL / Danil PAK (TUR), who represent a club in Ankara.

Or do we? There is a long pause after the Warm-Up ended, with two skaters just doing laps of the rink.

Ah, the announcer has just told us that they are having technical difficulties, and that there will be a 2 minute delay.

Right, they've just been introduced, to massive cheers.

CaroLiza_fan

Both Irmak and Danil wearing all black.

Different programme to what they did in the Junior GP Series. Not sure what the first song was. But the second song was "Born To Be Alive".

Yes, I enjoyed that programme.

CaroLiza_fan

We start the Czech Junior Ice Dance Championships ( :p ) with two sibling partnerships. First up are Barbora KLESALOVÁ / Matej KLESAL (CZE).

They are also wearing all black. They are skating to Boney M medley - a VERY slowed down version of "Daddy Cool", followed by a normal speed "Rasputin".

The Klesal twins look very inexperienced compared to the first partnership.

They go into 2nd position, 11.83 points behind Irmak YÜCEL / Danil PAK (TUR).

CaroLiza_fan

Natálie BLAASOVÁ / Filip BLAAS (CZE) wearing pink and black.

What a strange combination of songs. They don't go together at all.

And am I the only one that finds it inappropriate that a sibling partnership is skating to a song that mentions a sex machine?

They skated well, though.

Personally, I still prefer the first partnership.

Ooooh. They go into 2nd position, 2.53 points behind Irmak YÜCEL / Danil PAK (TUR).
