Adam Rippon Out of Nationals

And, incidentally, dang, dang, dang.

U.S. Nationals is still exciting as to the competition. But as to enjoyment, for those of us who love performances, artistry and diversity of vision, it just became much less interesting. No one else can do what Adam does.

What a shame. Sounds like a pretty intense off-ice warmup that you can break your foot?

These skaters all have intense off ice training. I Remember that feature they did on Agnes Zawadski and she and her teammates were running up and down a mountain in Colorado. That's why Tom's skaters are in such great shape and have such stamina. There's nothing like running over rocks at 6,000 ft, to get the heart rate up. :agree:

I hope too. An injury though is such a backlash for an 'older' skater .... so sad about this

Terrible news. I feel so badly for him right now and will greatly miss seeing his gorgeous free program at Nationals. On the bright side, maybe this means he'll keep it for the Olympic season.

Absolutely terrible news for Adam. He finally wins his Title and now he won't be able to defend it. Don't our men only have 2 spots for Worlds? Here's hoping Max can ride his big jumps, consistency, and improved PCS numbers to get himself a second Title. I guess this makes Nathan the front runner for Nationals. Actually, after the GPF, I guess Nathan was already the front runner. With Nathan, Max, Jason, Ross, Grant, Timothy, and Alex Johnson. Nationals will be an all out battle for the Men.

I'm sure he's not thinking about it right now but, I hope Adam stays close to the rink during his recovery. Here's why. I think he can be a huge source of inspiration for Ashley and Nathan. I popped my hip flexor when I was on tour and instead of staying at the hotel during rehearsal, I went to every one of them. It kept me hungry to get healthy and get back in the show. Also, while Raf is training other team members, Adam could easily work with Nathan, Ashley, or any other member of Raf's stable of skaters. It will help to keep his mind sharp even while his body is in recovery mode. I hope that made sense.

He's going to the Olympic Training Center during his recovery.

I am so sad to hear this. Adam really won me over with his beautiful long program. It sounds like he is already looking ahead which is great. Sometimes time off can have good consequences too (I think Jason improved after his injury). I wish Adam a speedy recovery!!!!

Nathan was supposed to give me the jumps excitement at and Adam was supposed to ensure the entertainment... Helsinki won't be as good without him...
