Adelina Sotnikova

What did Adelina do to her foot that she is still injured? Must have been a huge injury or repeated injuries for her.

Time to restore after this kind of injury - 3 to 4 months at most.
It means early Febriary to early March to restore.

Elena Vodorezova: Sotnikova's foot is not fully healed, we have not a specific training plan

Olympic figure skating champion Adelina Sotnikova continues to recover from a foot injury. Some details to the special correspondent of the portal TEAM RUSSIA-2014 Catherine Borisenkova told her coach Elena Vodorezova.

"Adelina continues recovery from a leg injury, - said Elena Vodorezova. - All workouts are built based on her well-being. Depending on how the leg responds in some day make jumps, and some - just skating. Unfortunately, the Adelina's leg is still worried, so we have not specific training plan - not to any competition, or even to the test skate. Adelina is under medical supervision, she is still doing the medical procedures. "

I worry that this might be a career ending injury

Thanks for the info. Yeah that sounds about right for an injury of such magnitude. When footballers get it, it takes 4-5 months to get back for some of them, and then a couple months to regain fitness.

Should take the entire season off. She clearly isn't 100% and trying for worlds when she can't even do a test skate right now could have consequences. She should just relax like Kaetlyn Osmond and come back stronger later.

Yeah it will be better she comes back stronger than ever next season. I wonder if she will keep one of her programs for next season

Point of view neutral in here. I think she should take all the time she needs to comeback, if she comeback unready it will only feed her haters.

Best wishes to Adelina.

Good to see her back on the ice and the amount of thumb down is ridiculous. Those people need lives. :rolleye:

still not a big fan of that ending....

but she's looking pretty good so far with minimal training

ITA on both counts. That one spiral looks better too, though I still think it's awkward. I still love the music choice.

If she can come back to her previous state from this injury, it could end up being a plus for her. She'll have had much longer to get used to her programs when the new season comes around compared to other skaters & (as much as I hate to say this is a 'positive' :disapp:) the negative stuff from lowlifes has died down somewhat. I'd love to think that the haters/trolls/downright bitter people don't affect her at all, but I'm sure it must, even if just a little bit

To be fair I think she has been better at expresion. The music choice, which I initially thought to be bad, turns out to be very suitable for her. Good luck for her recovery.

I think Adelina skated that very well. You can see how she's really working on the edges, and the music didn't overpower her at all. She doesn't seem to have lost any flexibility, which is a big plus. I think it'll be a good program, once the jumps are added in.

still not a big fan of that ending....
But hey, at least there was no glass for her to crash into this time!

Yes about the ending.
In competition, is she seriously going to run up to the judges like that:slink:?

I agree that she does focus a lot on edge work here and is very connected to the music !

Thanks a lot :) Happy to see her back on the ice, though I hope she's not rushing it. The program still suits her and you can really see she likes it. I'm especially missing her spirals. Gorgeous. And is she really making that last ridiculous spin position even more difficult?
Maybe she saw Josh Farris. :)
