Adelina Sotnikova

Wait, what? :roll9:

I kind of can't believe that and think it is weird and awesome at the same time. I mean, if ever something came unexpected for me...

Buianova confirmed, Sot is no longer working with her. Some people in the federation don't know what to think, especially since it hasn't been approved formally  What indeed! But good luck to them :agree:

Will she still be staying in CSKA or move to St. Petersburg?

Um, should be interesting......I guess. Not sure she should be changing coaches. however, if she wants to the least she could do is get one who isn't just starting out as coach.

Good luck to both,

I was thinking she would have been a coach at his academy, but if she wants to try with a fresh perspective, I guess we will see how it goes.

Agree. Moving to Plushy who does not have any coaching experience with world-level skaters kinda irked me.* It also felt like a PR move for me. Oh wellz, Plushy has the resources to keep her well-trained and protected. Hoping that his competitive nature rubs on to her. I would like for her to have a season that she can be satisfied with no matter what.

*to explain further a bit...
I know he helps Mishin with some the coaching but I haven't heard about him being a sole coach of someone (let alone a high-level skater like Ade).

RemyRose, you're gonna have to update your avatar then since Ade won't be part of team CSKA anymore

Agreed, he might have a little experience but she is the Olympic Champion, it is a bit different than coaching younger kids or anything. Not sure why she would leave her long-time coach but again, we will wait and see. If things don't work out, I guess she can coach at his gym.

I know she wanted to come back, but not sure how this will work out. I doubt she is aiming for Olympics next year.
