Hello! I'm 18 and I'm a beginner skater, I'm 154cm and 51kg (i'm fully grown just short). i have a greek/african foot shape, as well as flat feet (i don't pronate, and i usually wear an insole in my skates like an orthotic) my feet aren't wide or narrow just neutral. I practice about 2 days a week for 2-3 hours (planning on going more times in the near future). Right now I'm working on waltz jump, one foot spins, 3 turns and mohawks, other beginner skills (already know both crossovers), but i'm progressing fairly quickly.
I'm in Melbourne (au) so there's not too many choices for skate shops, but the one closest to me with expertise in figure skating only stocks risport, edea, and jackson. I wear jackson freestyles now since it's ideal for my weight, he recommended against edea overtures or anything less stiff than the freestyles. The fit is alright, not exactly the perfect/ideal fit, but they're good for now.
While I am wondering what boot I should upgrade to when the time comes, I'm also considering investing in inline skates and was wondering if there was any insight here into what boots i should look into. My rink is a bit far from where i live so it would be great to have inlines so that i can skate more often, not just to improve skills and general exercise, but because i really enjoy it (i have done it before but in rentals, so i know it'll be worth an investment). The skate shop near me sells wheels but not a package with boots, so i would have to buy them separately.
- Should i buy the freestyles again and try to find a way to buy them separate from the blade, or are their other options for me?
- Do you get more supportive boots when getting inline figure skates, or is it just the same? (not overbooting, but just requiring more support to skate in them)
- Based off my foot shape and height+weight, what brands/boots would you recommend? (for ice and/or inline)
thankyou very much to anyone who reads and replies!!

Welcome! I skate both on ice and on wheels, but can't be too much help to you because I use quad wheels, not inline. Everyone I know who does both at my sports club buys either the same boots for blades and wheels, or slightly softer stiffness level for the wheels because it takes more effort to get onto an "edge" (the two left or right wheels) and the stiffer the boot the more effort that takes. We all use quad wheels, and skate indoors in a wooden floor "wheelercise" gym set aside for us and wheelchair sports. I don't know anyone who uses inline skates, so I wouldn't want to guess about the stiffness level needed for those.
