Hi everyone!

I've recently gotten back into skating and have decided to invest in my own pair. I'm 5'10 and weigh 75kg. I'm very much a beginner, and have started with the basic skills of skating.

I'd love to avoid buying skates online, but I've only been able to find one shop in my area that sells figure skates, and they sadly only stock up on risport or hockey skates. If any of you know of a professional fitter in my area that would be a great help!

I live in Cape Town, South Africa. Thank you!

Hello and welcome! I found one place in Midran, South Africa but he doesn't sell anything stiff enough to support your specific needs. Also, it looks like they don't professionally fit you there, they make you do it yourself which I highly advise against.

Would you be travelling anytime soon that we could suggest a fitter there?

Also, what is your foot type (click the link please).

Thank you for checking! Unfortunately I'll be staying in the Western Cape area of South Africa for the foreseeable future.

I would say my foot type is Egyptian. I've also been told my feet are quite flat.

Edea Overture would work for your foot type. You would need a blade to go with it and MK Pro or JW Coronation Ace. If you wanted something a little more beginner-wise on blade then I'd suggest Ultima Aspire XP.

There are two fitters/shops nearby that carry Edea.
