I doubt it, too, would she be doing pairs if she still had real hopes of landing 3As?

From what I understand based on interviews her disliking for single skating has little to do with elements or lack thereof. She just doesnt like it for various personal reasons and experiences.

Thank you for posting. Alena is one of my favorite figure skaters! Her 3A is incredible, and no one can mimic it. I hope her 3A will come back and she will stay healthy without injury.

Also, when switching pair, her smile shows, and it makes me happy I hope Her beautiful 3F could see at pair as well as single.

I'm sorry, I haven't come for a while...
For their first National Championships as a Pair, Alyona Kostornaya and Georgy Kunitsa have been only 9th at the Short Program, but 5th at the Free Skating; I believe that this gives them a visibility in the very deep Russian Pairs field.
In a previous interview, Alyona Kostornaya had said that Death Spirals were a difficult element for her, so I'm very pleased to see this beautiful one:
