Alexander Petrov

Actually the more you find out about A.D. Petrov, the more you realize that he's kind of kooky but in an amusing and endearing way.

It looks like Olivier Brajon is in Courchevel too, so maybe this time we can get some real photos from a professional photographer. And not some half-body background shot like the one from the Tartu camp.

Sasha posted this:

This is where they are training. Courchevel 1850.

Actually it looks a lot brighter than this (I've seen photos on one of the girls' accounts) but he added a filter.

Edit:
I hope all goes well at this camp. I know he'll be working his socks off as usual but choreo wise, the programs need to be completed by July. It's too late to wait till August like they did last season which in part contributed to the slow start he had to the season. Misha Ge is in Beijing working for Chinese skaters and he also has his own programs to do so he won't be at Courchevel, at least not for the most part of this camp. So I hope whoever is at Courchevel (if not Richaud then Sandhu or whoever) can help Sasha do his FS and that his coaches won't wait till the next camp in 3 weeks time to settle that. This is a really important season for him and he is the bronze medalist of Russia, not some appendage to other skaters in the school.

I just updated Alexander's OP. Please tell me whether I have omitted anything important or whether I need to make any corrections?

I added a lot of data on Russian internal championships.

They pushed back the 1st stage of the Russian Cup by 5 days.
And so...

June 17-30 Courchevel Camp
July 10-20 Tartu Camp
Sept 10-11 Test Skate
Sept 25-29th Russian Cup 1st Stage (Samara)/Sept 22-24 Nebelhorn Trophy/Sept 30- Oct 2 Ondrej Nepela Memorial
Oct 6-9 Finlandia Trophy
Oct 14-16 Nice Cup
Oct 28-30 Skate Canada
Nov 11-13 TEB / Nov 9-13 Ukrainian Open
Nov 18-20 CoC / Nov 17-20 Warsaw Cup
Nov 25-27 NHK / Nov 22-27 Tallinn Trophy
Dec 8-11 GPF Marseille / Dec 7-10 Golden Spin of Zagreb
Dec 20-25 Russian Nationals (Chelyabinsk)
Jan 25-29 Euros (Ostrava)
Mar 29-Apr 2 Worlds (Helsinki)
If Sasha has to do the Russian Cup event then he might not get to do Finlandia. :(

Thanks for keeping us updated, adelia!

I too hope he gets to go to Finlandia this year.

As seen from a bunch of instagram and facebook photos, Richaud is doing choreo in Courchevel and giving SS lessons to skaters from Mishin's school. But Sasha appears in none of the photos. :ohwell:

Edit:
At this point, I don't care who does his FS anymore, I just want them to get it done at this camp, don't wait till the next one.

There are a couple group photos on his IG fanpage. @alexander_petrov_fanpage
So far, no bigger photos.

There's still another week of the camp to go. At this point the portion for the foreign skaters has ended.

Worth noting is that they invited Gennady Kaskov to the camp too. He's the tech director of Guelph FS club. Former ice dancer. He's probably there to help with SS.

Another thing worth noting is that second group photo has confirmed what I've suspected since April. The big tattoo on Sasha's right arm is permanent. :ohwell:

sigh... no matter, Adelia! The men are crazy about the tattooing... :dumb:

My main issue is that he is too young. And secondly, I've seen a photo of it, albeit a blur one. If it's what I suspect it is, then it was a really bad decision.

Anyway whatever, we've known that this was coming sooner or later.
