Yes, he did feel - relatively to how he usually is - distracted, and hence, no doubt, the mistakes crept in. Tomorrow I hope he can re-focus, and concentrate on himself & his peformance, and things will take care of themselves. Of course, he probably has the quad to think of, but we saw at Nebelhorn that he can pull himself together for the rest of the program even if he misses that, so, best of luck with the quad - but keep it together for the rest of the program, as well, Sasha! We know you can do it - we've seen it.:)
There will always be things that could be potentially distracting, especially for someone with his qualities and features.
The important thing is to learn from it. Better it happens now than at a more important event.

He is the final skater in the second group. Tomorrow's practice starts at 8.40am and the FS starts at 12.30pm.

There is no chance whatsoever of a medal. But top 6 is possible.

I just hope he goes out there, skates for himself & gives it his all. And then let the chips fall where they may.

Yes, and not for anyone else, whether they are in the audience or not.
It may sound strange to say this but Sasha needs to be more ruthless sometimes.

Something I have to say about the program, apart from the obvious mistakes.
He isn't necessarily slow but a little bit more speed wouldn't hurt. Also, one thing I noticed during the warm up he doesn't do that much. One of every jump, but then he does quite a few double axels. That's probably just a manner of some sort.

And I'm pretty sure I saw his dad there too, so that's nice.

Are you sure the dad was there, he was still in SPB last night.
Or maybe he took the train over today...

Edit:
Yeah, he doesn't do much during the warm-up. In the videos it's always like that too.

Well, not a 100% sure but quite positive. He was talking with Mishin, that's why I realized who he was.

Alright thanks. Interesting that he came over today. Thanks for the info.

Just in, according to Liza, they are NOT going to Nice Cup. Thank heavens, common sense has prevailed. Well, she didn't say Sasha is not going but I'm assuming since his schedule follows hers he won't go too.

Good - that's certainly a relief!

Changes were made to the program again since Nebelhorn. I'm not sure it really added to the program.

Re-watched his SP and warmup from a different camera angle but without sound (copyright issue on youtube). He sort of tripped during the warmup. But it didn't seem like a big deal. After the combo he was a bit rattled, spin was off balance. He also did seem unusually tired after the SP. But that could also be because of tension. Anyway we shall see what happens today.

His father was at practice today btw, which has just ended. His father is upbeat, posted a video on social media of Sasha's 3A.

LRK, I finally got down to reading that thread. Honestly the bitterness and ignorance, so hilarious.

I don't understand the PCS honestly. 5 points lower than at Nebelhorn when his performance here was actually better. But oh well, what can you do.

I'll have to rewatch as my stream (internet is troubling me today) was so sluggish - it even seized up as Sasha was really getting into the end part of the program, and I quickly clicked away from full screen and to my relief it went on again - I was not able to assess his (or anyone else's for that matter - I got stills for Ivan for a time, for example) performance properly. I'm glad it was better here than at Nebelhorn - I hope he keeps on progressing with every performance, and really inhabits the program. He had a pensive air to him at warm-up, I thought.

Funny thing is that I was thinking during warm-up that if he does make a mistake with the quad, that I hoped he'd triple it this time. And he did. Progress. And next time hopefully...

I don't think he made a mistake on the quad. It was intentionally tripled. He did a 3T because the quad didn't go so well during training so I think Mishin told him not to attempt quad. During warm-up he did not attempt the quad. I've never actually seen Sasha pop 4T into 3T. If he pops, it is into a 2T. I also saw some rotated 4Ts during his session on the 6th. He still needs to learn how to control the landings better because it's usually a turnout or stepout. But the quad is progressing.
