This is not 6.0 era anymore, they should be more attentive to these things, every point matters.

Sasha said his 4T is consistent and he will do it in the FS. He said he was unhappy that his score is below 80. Sasha, your score is below 80 not just because of that mistake on the axel but because the TES details in your program are not fine-tuned! Spins, bonuses, stsq etc.

It better be... at least he needs to try it. It's very much possible to get to second place, if he does the quad at least.

And Sasha has finished his skate, and has placed... 2nd.

Free skate score: 161.07
Total score: 240.26

Well he did attempt the quad. Too bad it was << and fall. Can't see the video though. Anyone who has seen it, was it a proper attempt or half popped or what happened?

Congrats Sasha on the silver medal anyway! :)

I hope Mishin doesn't try to PR/spin this result. That PCS is a reality check of where Sasha stands in the opinion of the Federation. It won't be helpful to Sasha if his coach tries to sugar-coat this.

Nevermind, the video worked on my laptop!!
It seems like he just opened the quad, didn't trust in himself enough. :scratch2: The quad looked pretty good other than the landing, ok height and solid looking technique. Rest of the program was very much clean so he didn't let the fall get to him. :clapper:

Yeah, height looked ok. But surprisingly, just unraveled. A bit like the way his 3lz had been going this season. Maybe not enough confidence or focus. I don't know which.

I have a backlog of stuff from Junior Nats that I will be posting tomorrow night (or afternoon, depending on your time zone).

I've been working very long hours the past few days so I haven't had the time to do it yet. But tomorrow.

One thing I don't understand is that they billed this as a "sold out" event yet there are so many empty seats seen in the videos.

What? so Samarin is going to Worlds and Junior Worlds? That's unfair.
Who said Samarin is going to Worlds? Rus Fed will send Kovtun. I am sure of that. And quite honestly, Kovtun deserves to go.
