Alexander Petrov

Anyway, moving forward, the next competition should be Finlandia. So he won't have to do so much traveling for that. Multiple flights/stopovers are very tiring.

Got some kind of viral cough. :ohwell:
I won't post any updates for the next few days, unless there is actual news.

I don't know if anyone really wants to watch this but here are the links for Sasha's Lombardia Trophy performances, inclusive of the warm-up.

He has 3 weeks between Lombardia and Finlandia. They better be changing one or both programs (in our dreams I guess).

Please Heaven! (fervently) I, like you, have little hope, but I suppose one can always pray... I mean, literally. At the worst it will certainly do no harm...

The camp is too poor to change a program for him, I am afraid. So much wasted potential.

Skater01, are you still going to Finlandia?

Unfortunately no. A friend of mine couldn’t make it and I don’t really want go alone. Maybe next year...

Edit: for the live stream I’m pretty sure Yle (a Finnish tv station) will stream it live. They usually do at least. I don’t know if you will be able to watch it outside Finland tho.

No worries, I have Hola. ;)

The official draw will probably take place sometime tomorrow evening.

Found the Yle stream link in the event thread:
https://areena.yle.fi/1-4212380
It says 7 Oct 7.10pm, so I assume they will be broadcasting the second half of the Mens FS.
Geoblocked but it shouldn't be an issue if you have Hola or some other equivalent.

My expectation for Sasha at this competition is for him to make it into the final group for the FS. If he makes it into the final group, then we can watch it on live stream, since the Yle stream doesn't start till 7.10pm on 7 Oct.
And if he can get a top 5 finish out of this, I will be pleased.

Honestly though, organizers who want to charge 9 Euros for a 2 day live stream (of uncertain quality) really don't have this sport's best interests at heart at all.

Good luck to Sasha tomorrow!

(I won't be watching live, by the way - after what happened when I did with Liza's SP at Lombardia... My poor nerves just can't handle it. Also, I'm mulling options as to what to replace Sasha's SP music with this time. I hope he nails those jumps, though - I'm sure he can. Skate clean, Sasha!)

Just looking at the way the men have been scored so far in the SP, I would venture to say that Sasha will perhaps be scored around 34 or 35 for PCS. It's just my guess, I could be wrong.

Sabre Dance in the Ritual Dance costume.

2 falls, no combo. The quad looked fully rotated though. 3A was very slanted from take-off, unsaveable really.
59.42. He will not be in the last group of course, which means no live broadcast for us.

The program itself is alright. I'm not sure about the middle cut of music, it kind of kills all the energy built-up in the opening minute. But definitely, it is much better than Elvis/Tutti Frutti. PCS was around 34 with 2 falls, it would probably have been 1-2 points higher had he been clean.

He looked mentally unprepared. Perhaps it's because of the change of SP.
The coaches looked like they were not surprised.
