I think some Russian media/forum users are always making a fuss out of nothing. Selecting the national team memebers for those big international events is the duty/job of a FS coaching/experts Council in Russia, and Mishin is only one member of that Council. Without Mishin's "advice", the 3rd spot for men's singles should go to whom? Sasha has every right to claim it because he is the National bronze medalist!

I should have worded my post better.
Noone on the Russian forums/media has been making a fuss out of this. The two versions went unnoticed. The first version had "decision by coach's advice" behind S/K, S/B and Sasha's names and "decision of coaching council" behind Anna's name. The latest version only has "decision by coach's advice" behind S/K's name, the others were removed. And yes of course, Sasha has every right to claim it. My point though, was that it was a positive thing that Sasha had Mishin's backing on this.

Of course Mishin is backing up Sasha, for he is Sasha's lifelong mentor! :laugh:
 
It kinda makes me sad to see him so serious in the medal ceremony and the gala. Hopefully it was just him being tired or something, and nothing more serious.

He has a lot on his plate. Some people have been quite critical of him. I'll just leave it as that.
Yes, it made me sad watching it too.

FWIW - fine for me also.

(I have come across an odd phenomenon with some other links to pictures - not on this thread - though; the window starts to open, and then shuts itself immediately. Peculiar.)
