Alexander Petrov

The SP has supposedly been postponed, possibly to tomorrow. This is according to info from FSO.
Are they going to make the skaters do two programs in one day? Or is the whole competition going to be extended by another day. Bizarre.

Edit:
Btw, there were 6 men in Sasha's practice session. So presumably one guy was added to the entries.

Official news:
The competition has been postponed to Friday morning (tomorrow) because the Russian judge (Petr Grushman) canceled his trip at the last minute so they had to find a replacement. A Serbian judge has kindly agreed to officiate but he only arrived on Thursday afternoon. The skaters will still have to skate the LP on the same day (Friday) with a 4 hour break in between.

This is a mess. So now not only no points but two competitive programs in one day with just 4 hours in between.

Well, I guess the FS is going to be more of a splat fest than it would be in "normal" competition schedule.
But I feel like Sasha has so much routine to everything in the program, that I do trust in his ability to cope with all this. Of course we'll see tomorrow.

As long as he comes out of this without any injury or illness, then it's all good.
Based on what I've seen from the practice sessions, I think Sasha is here mainly to train jumps (specifically his quad), the competition results are unimportant.

Oh and today's practice shirt was the black short-sleeved one. :)
Sasha's movement across the ice is very distinctive so it was easy to identify him.

Official schedule:
4th Feb 7.40pm Practice
5th Feb 11.10am SP
5th Feb 5.35pm FS
5th Feb 8pm Victory ceremony

Still no starting order.

I suppose I should post this, even though it's unpleasant.

The Russian Junior Worlds team as listed on fskate.ru:
http://www.fskate.ru/results/tour/1279.html
Александр Петров is not on it, as you can see. So it's official.

It's unpleasant if Sasha (actually Mishin) did want to get the spot there. But since Sasha's situation is pretty much identical to Pitkeev last season, I think it's possible that they simply did not want the spot (for whatever the reason might be).

His situation is not identical to Pitkeev's.
As for whether they wanted the spot or not, we'll never know.

He did not attend the evening practice session. But neither did Liza, so it was likely planned.

"Alexei Mishin: "By the force majeure in Sarajevo reacted calmly

Alexei Mishin, coach of Russian skaters who came to the tournament in Sarajevo, reacted calmly to the fact that, due to force majeure, the athletes will ride on Friday two programs:

- I view this situation positively, as one of the pages of a book about the school of life. Nothing terrible has happened. I am calm. Athletes who hope too. It is necessary to go out and ride - commented Alexei Mishin."

There's a dude with a camera at rinkside, so maybe there will be better quality videos later on.

Missed the 3-3 (hand down on the lutz and then 2T?) and also maybe doubled the 3A? I couldn't see clearly, it was out of view. He also ended a few seconds after the music. 69+. But he didn't fall, so for that I'm glad because he could have hurt himself given his condition.

If I didn't hear wrongly, he's within 1+ pt of the lead.

Edit:
Yeah, he's just 1.08pts behind Dmitriev.
