Alexander Petrov

Great!

I am sure he has done other exhibitions, but I couldn't find them.

It is now in the OP. And I neatened up his competitive history while I was at it.

I know! I was so excited I rushed over here (well, "rushed" as well as I could considering my internet suddenly decided to become as slow as molasses - extremely frustrating!) immediately after seeig it to proclaim it! Well, after giving an excited scream and pounding my fist on the desk (I might have been a bit overenthusiastic with the last bit, as I might have hurt my hand a bit actually... )

Anyway.

Yeah, baby!

 I know how you feel!

Happy that he got two assignments! Hope that he can skate clean and not worry about placements. :)

Yes! That's exactly my hope as well - and that he can really perform! Thankfully there is no hype surrounding him (that I'm aware of), and no one is expecting him to show up and wipe the floor (or ice) with the senior field, so as long as he does the best he can, all will be well. :)

There's the Quad Question, of course - and how far along that has come. If he is going to introduce it, it may be that he won't be entirely clean... but again, so long as he does his best, I'll be happy. :)

The Senior men's field just got x2 more exciting for me. :) If only SC on the other side of the country... *sigh*

I think the Quad Question will be answered based on his summer training. There's no pressure on him go out there and win everything, so he'll be free to plan at his on pace (and not based on what competitors are doing).

I still wonder why he was put on the so-called "Junior" team, if he was doing senior GP.... (While less, er, 'qualified' skaters were named to the senior team).

Sasha flew back to Russia today, after 3 weeks at a Black Sea resort. Yubileyny is under renovation I think so almost all the students are on vacation. There haven't been any articles on Sasha during the off-season but I found a bit of info in an interview Mishin gave, published on June 6th:

"- The last few days I have been drawing up plans for the preparation of their athletes - said Alexei Mishin. - Then discuss them with the president and CEO of the Federation of figure skating in Russia (FFKKR) - Alexander Gorshkov and Alexander Kogan. Heads of national figure skating endorsed our ideas. Prepare start on July 2 resort "Igor" in the Leningrad region, and then went on to camp in Turkey. It is at this stage to join us Evgeni Plushenko.

Together with Plushenko and reigning European and world Yelizaveta Tuktamysheva will train and Junior Champion of Russia Alexander Petrov?
- Not only it, but other young athletes. Training next to such masters as Plushenko and Tuktamysheva bring invaluable...

Last season Tuktamysheva and Petrov was very intense competitive program, and you even brought under its theoretical basis. It was claimed that the skaters can keep in shape by participating in tournaments, as do tennis players. But Tuktamysheva said that this second season will not stand.
- Optionally each year to adhere to the same methodology. Tuktamysheva last season it was necessary to gain rating and return confidence. Now it is irrelevant. What competitions to participate, we will decide on the course of the season. As one of the tournaments retractors for all members of my group consider "Finland Trophy", which will be held October 8-11 in Espoo. On it my students travel regularly."

Thank you!

Other than the haircut, I only just noticed that he got himself tattooed on his arms. Both forearms.

I guess he wants to be like Plushenko in everything)) But I suppose Plush was much older when he got himself his first tattoo

FYI He's not a Plushenko fan. Kovtun has big tattoos too. It's a generational thing more than anything.

Edit:
I just hope Sasha didn't get someone's name tattooed on his arms. Else he might regret it later on.
