Wonderful words! Thank you.I never knew about Alexander Petrov before last week-end at Skate Canada, when I became an instant fan. I absolutely love his skating. There's something so classical about it, and the depth of emotion and musical expression came from inside him. I just wanted to come here and say how impressed I am with him. It's hard to believe he's only sixteen. I'm looking forward to watching his skating for a good long while to come!

Thank you for those words - and the beautiful things you had to say about him, and the lovely way you expressed it, on the men's LP thread. So heartwarming. I wanted to frame it and put it on a wall.![]()
Wow, are you my twin? 'cause I could've written this whole post! :luv17: It was evident that the crowd enjoyed him as well. Looking forward to what he can do coming up!
Oh I'm so happy his programs at SC were well received!Like LRK I only started supporting Sasha last year.
This was the performance that made me instantly a huge fan:

He is still listed as "pupil" in his ISU profile but he definitely does not go to school on a daily basis. None of the elite Russian skaters do. Maybe once or twice a week (if at all) or tutored. Now that Sasha is probably soon back home I started wondering, does anybody here know if he is in school at all at the moment? (since he graduated from somewhere last summer, correct me if I'm wrong …)

I'm gad you like it.thanks for the link; that was terrific. When he makes a beautiful movement, he seems to hold onto it so that we can enjoy the shape and the power of it. It's funny, because there's not really any more time passing. It's the illusion he creates by expressing a motion to its fullest extent and holding onto it (or seeming to) for a split second longer. Really cool.
