I can see several merits from only doing one session a day, the day-time session, because quite frankly a 9pm practice session is really late and he doesn't need to tire himself out.
However, I just hope that was the plan, if you know what I mean.

Yeah, I do, but I shan't worry yet.:) Also, it occurred to me, that apart from having time to rest & settle down after the trip, one reason for leaving early for Bratislava might have been to avoid the rush and hubbub. But you are right, 9 pm is a pretty late hour, and they may simply have decided that being rested for tomorrow was far more important than an extra training session.

There were media and photographers at the morning session too so it's pretty much unavoidable.

Whatever it is, I hope he gets a good night's sleep. And... it's time for me to rest too. I'll update again later today.

Practice is almost over for Sasha's group. While I have not seen any photos yet, based on a blurry clip, there were 6 skaters on the ice at that session so he did attend practice.

All right, this is the point where I'd like to cheat and find out the results... before they happen. Anyone have a spare time machine lying around that they could lend me?

He did alright. I think the spin level got downgraded that's why he lost 1.6 pts in TES at the end. 3A was great as usual.
He'll be skating in the second last group I think.

He wasn't too pleased with the score, well neither am I. But it's okay, it's like that when you first start out and don't have any reputation to help you.

I thought he did great - he held it together at his first major senior championships, even controlling minor mistakes instead of letting himself get unsettled. And the crowd was into it too. Well done Sasha! Now, just go and do the same at tomorrow's free.;)

Oh, and I was literally praying before he skated, I was that nervous. The queasy nervous feeling suddenly appeared as Phillip Harris was taking his bows after his skate - I actually began to write a comment here when it happened to mark the occasion, but then refrained. Because it wasn't an Evil Presentiment nervosity, but rather it suddenly hit me that "Oh, my! this is actually happening!" Why then, I don't know, except I'd been watching perfectly relaxed and calm, and then suddenly my thoughts went to Sasha skating soon and "Gulp!" But it's okay, I don't mind how nervous I get, so long as Sasha is calm.:)

His points were a bit low, but they were his new seasons best so I'm glad that they are slowly rising. Even with some flaws and no added quad. So I'm not worried about that so much. :)

Then the next question for me is for tomorrow, quad or no quad. Yes, Mishin said that probably no, but then again what Sasha said after nationals is totally different. So that is till a question mark in the way I see it.

Edit:
And he really needs to work on the spins.…

If Mishin is telling the truth, then there probably won't be a quad even though Sasha probably wants to attempt it.
I mean, it's not like it's 2012 when he could get away with defying his coaches and go for 3A-3T even though it was only supposed to be a double. Although that's a lot easier to do since you just add another rotation.

Yeah and really the coaching staff need to pay more attention to these things. It annoys me how he landed 3 nearly clean jumping passes, including a really beautiful 3A but still finished some points (in TES) behind skaters who did not land a quad either.

Another matter is that the Junior Worlds team has not been 100% confirmed yet, the final step of Rus Fed board approval has yet to be announced. Even though the chances of him being sent is very slim, I'm still holding on to hope that he can go. I really want to see his competitive programs again after Euros. :sad21:

Interview incoming...
He fell ill after returning from the Tartu camp and could not train. :sad21:
It's more or less true then, when Sasha stays away from IG for long, something is up.
