Alexander Petrov

Mishin brought at least one boy with him. There's a photo on social media. As far as I can tell though, the senior skaters did not go.

Okay, that is possible. On the article I found they only mentioned those two names. They probably would have mentioned Sasha, if he was there though.

But of course we won't know for sure.

It looks like the off-season break is starting soon. Last year he went on vacation with his family to Bulgaria, which was the first time he had a holiday in 3 years. So hopefully they can go somewhere again this year. But if not, I hope he can at least get some good lengthy rest/sleep, let his body fully heal and recharge his batteries for the new season.

As promised, I've translated some of the nicest public messages Sasha received on his birthday. I'll be doing this in parts over the next two days. I have to use a dictionary, so it takes some time.

First part. These come from his VK page. I'm only posting the sweeter ones:

Sasha appeared in a Match TV news video that was filmed on March 10. When I say "appeared" what I really mean is that he skated past the camera for a very blurry two seconds. And that was all there was of him in that video, as usual. :(
Nonetheless, I have screencapped it:

National team test skates have been scheduled for 10-11 September. Supposedly skaters will "gather" from 5-11 September in Sochi and at the end of it will be the test skates. I guess they want the skaters to train for a few days in Sochi? I dunno, I'm never cool with making skaters fly all the way down to Sochi for a test skate so that the Fed can make some money from selling tickets. Now they want them to spend the entire week there? Anyway, we shall see what happens.

Note also that Gorshkov mentioned that the national team will be selected based on "rational use of resources". You can take it to mean that funding will be even less this season and they might cut back on the number of members in the team too. It's not great news.

I've updated the schedule to reflect this. The test skate clashes with Lombardia Trophy so there's no way any top Russian will be going to Lombardia now.

May 6-8 Ontario Seminar
May 16-30 Tartu Camp
June 17-30 Courchevel Camp
July 10-20 Tartu Camp
Sept 10-11 Test Skate
Sept 1st Stage of Russian Cup (Samara)
Sept 22-24 Nebelhorn Trophy
Sept 28- Oct 2 Ondrej Nepela Memorial
Oct 6-9 Finlandia Trophy
Oct Nice Cup
Oct 21-23 Skate America
Oct 28-30 Skate Canada
Nov 4-6 CoR
Nov 11-13 TEB / Nov 9-13 Ukrainian Open
Nov 18-20 CoC / Nov 17-20 Warsaw Cup
Nov 25-27 NHK / Nov 22-27 Tallinn Trophy
Dec 8-11 GPF Marseille / Dec 7-10 Golden Spin of Zagreb
Late Dec Russian Nationals (Chelyabinsk)

Edit:
Apparently the Fed will also be holding a workshop for national team coaches at the end of May in Moscow. As you can see from the schedule, it falls during the Tartu Camp. I sure hope that workshop is not compulsory.
