Rewatching, and he did have a little stumble in the stepsequence - can that have affected something?
Apparently the judges thought differently.
But I've always liked this stsq, just wish the music cut was more dynamic and dramatic.

Sash doesn't skate his FP until tomorrow, so I hope he can get some R&R once he's done with the practice session.

Protocol is up: http://www.dkjesenice.si/TT/17/SENIORMEN_SP_Scores.pdf

Was it the first time he tried a 4T at competition?

I love his Ritual Fire Dance SP this season. I wish Sasha good luck in the FS too!
What LRK said is accurate.
I'd like to add tho that he did attempt the quad in the SP at galas last year (it was in his layout until Nebelhorn when they removed it completely). On the two occasions that I saw on video, he did not fall but it was two footed and UR. He doesn't seem to be two-footing the jump anymore so the jump has gotten better.

The record of his 4T attempts in competition this season:
Nebelhorn FS- butterfly (apparently some people on FSO don't consider a popped quad a serious quad attempt so maybe we can discount this? lol)
Junior Nationals FS - fully rotated/fall
Sofia Trophy FS - UR (no fall)
Russian Cup Final FS - clean
Junior Worlds FS - clean
Triglav Trophy SP - UR/fall

Except at Sofia Trophy and Russian Cup Final (misjudged the lutz and ended up colliding with the boards), he was clean for the rest of the program, quad aside.

Sasha will skate first in group 2. The FS competition starts in a little more than an hour's time.

Stream is kind of intermittent for me today. Keep getting cut off and then the aaaads come on.

4T (maybe UR and step-out, no fall), 4T (step out, hand down, no fall)-2T, 3A (turn-out) / 3A-2T, 3Lz-1Lo-2S (meant to be a 3S), 3F, 3Lo, 2A.

Ladies and Gentlemen, he went for broke.
Do we need any more indication that they know it will be the Olympic season soon?

The season has ended, finally. It began with a bang (of sorts) and it ended with a bang (of sorts).

The stream for whatever reason has ended, so we probably won't get to see either the prize ceremony or the gala. Awesome. -_____-

Sasha went from no quads in his FS to landing 2 quads in his FS within just a span of 2 months.

I think this looks really promising going into next season. Yes, he had mistakes - but he didn't unravel; there's still a sense of... solidity to his skating. This is something to build upon, and work upon, going into next season.

And suddenly... I can't wait. I mean - darn it! This season has barely ended, and I wish it were autumn already!

Andorra camp looks to have been canceled.
