She should be invited as a RiSport ambassador, for their boots are fit for this formidable jumper

A pretty good skate, overall, today, I think! She is really working on her ability to perform to this sort of music, and it is paying off. But please, Sasha, don't scare me like that with your next 3A in competition. Watching her spin around like that on landing, I had my heart in my mouth.

IMO, she should have attempted a 2A instead of the 3A, for she slipped a bit on the take-off. I hope next time she can handle these changing situations at competitions more tactfully. Overall, it's a very nice performance. (y)

What's with Sasha and her 3A? It was not even a real try: if was a shy try ended up in something between a 2A and a 3A.
Her body can do it. Can her mind?
This tendency really start to worry me.
I hoped last year could be the exception of non delivering, but she couls overcome this empass.
Please do not prove me wrong supergirl.

P.S. I posted this in another forum, but i would like the opinion of this group. I'm really fearing she would continue to not express her full potential.

P.S#2: The new dress is 🔥

To me, I think that the problem with being such a trailblazer and incredibly talented athlete as she is, is that the only real enemy you have is yourself. Nobody questions if she can land the 3A or her entire quad arsenal - of course she physically can. Physicality is not the only aspect of the sport, psyche is too and so far it's proven to be her only real weakness (since she's made tons of progress in her artistry). The pressure that's on her after her successful junior seasons and a not-so-good (for russian standards) first senior outing might not have helped. It's hard to say where does this lack of confidence comes from with her, we can't see what goes on inside her head ; but I do feel like training with Plushenko has helped her so far, and of course her willpower is unbelievable - she always goes for it no matter what.

I think she's on her way to get that 3A beautiful and secure, it's just a process that requires patience and stumbles along the road. One thing's for sure : when her nerves stop getting in the way, the Russian Rocket will be launched in the stratosphere, with only a very very few who might still dream of reached her level 🚀

For now I'm crossing my fingers for her to go slay everyone with her great program and amazing new dress ; the biggest confidence boost she can have is to finally skate a free program clean, and it's all I wish for her to be happy 💜

Just to break this terribe silence here:
Dear Sashyula, it has been hard for all us but we must remember you are the one who probably took it hardest. Please, don't. Please don't you doubt yourself. You are still the Quad Queen, no matter what. It's just been a bad day, and as any queen can tell you, everyone is entitled to bad days and everyone has them, even queens. We're all human, in spite of what some people might have told you. It's gonna get better. It always does.
OTOH, if it was to ever happen, maybe today was the best day to have it happen. Now we all have it behind us and we may look forward to brighter days. You have a lot of time to get over it and come back to your usual royal quadly self. And when you come out to the ice again, we will surely root for you as strong as ever.

I love her dress. And she is so strong to smile in the K&C and wave to the public. I would have broken down crying, honestly. I hope she isn‘t injured because if she is, doing 4 quads doesn‘t sound like a good idea.

But whatever it‘s worth, she‘ll come back. She‘s a fighter and I‘m sure she won‘t give up. Davai, Sasha.

Like the red and black combo, looks really cool, but the spikes need to go, too clunky and aren’t easy enough to undo with one swift move.
Sasha, you’re a fighter, a hardworker and a girl made out of steel, you’ll come back even stronger next time, I believe in you!
I hope she’ll put this behind her, and Lana and Tina, as well s her brothers, can cheer Sasha up and make it all go away like a bad dream.
Everything will be okay.

You broke the silence and you did it with class and compassion. I certainly expected Sasha to win today she's been in excellent form this season and Aliona is not at her best without her triple axel and Anna and Kamila werent there. I'm sure Sasha expected to win today.

But this is Sports in this is why you play and do the competitions. There are no guarantees for anyone. The days of Yuna or Zhenya dominating for two or three years are over in ladies figure skating. There's just too much great depth predominately from one country.

On a positive note this was not Nationals or european our worlds and it's highly unlikely we'll have those this year. Nationals will be like a little world championship for the Russian ladies. Maybe Sasha will strike there. Again her form was really good this year considering we're in a coronavirus world. Sasha and Anna re at a very high level. This makes Sasha struggles today perplexing. But she will never cheat anyone or herself and will get back to work tomorrow.

I played baseball in high school and college and there's a psychology and all sports and with the world situation of the pandemic coming back hard or so it seems I bet skaters like Sasha are wondering if and when they will ever get it and if today is the day. Especially with several Russian figure skaters Contracting covid-19.
It's certainly not a normal season for the figure skaters they're under an unbelievable amount of pressure from all directions. Let's hope the best for all of them. It can't be easy. I've been tested twice for covid-19 and was negative both times. I'm not the only one who doesnt understand about this virus and why are people who are doing the right things wearing masks all the time in public washing their hands thoroughly using disinfecting sprays and wipes getting covid-19? I suppose this is an unanswerable question. That is scary.. I really thought covid-19 Play In the Summertime with the heat around the world. Not to be.

I actually knew what had happened before watching the program - I saw it on Jackie Wong's twitter, and was shocked and saddened by it. I doubted whether or not to watch, but I did anyway. (Full disclosure: I'm a Plushy uber, and I wanted to see if he would take proper care of Alexandra in such a hard moment, and was pleased to see that he was properly supportive. But then, of course he's had his hard moments, too so he would be able to understand. [I'm thinking especially of, when, at the age of 17, he had a crushing disappointment when he placed 4th at Worlds'.])

So, when I watched, I already knew, and could watch with a calmer mind than if it had just come over me unbeknownst. And to me, it looked as if she fought and fought and fught and never gave up. It was bad - but I've seen messy skates before, and how the will just goes out of the skater, and they almost even cease to try. And... to my eyes this did not happen with Alexandra.

And I hope her fans take solace in her fighting spirit. She's hit rock bottom, and the only way from here is up. She'll get up, dust herself off, and fight another day. This is just a bump in the road, albeit a painful and hurtful one. And she will come bacck all the stronger and fiercer for it.

Do you know what song I think of when I think of Alexandra?
