Tarasova mentioned she's not happy with Sasha's performance.
- I don't happy when a skater fails. Just cannot.

Bestimyanova added her boo saying there's no chance for the last shift in Olympics without a proper trixel.

But we still hope for better. Sasha proved twice she can close 10+ points deficit.

I don’t doubt Sasha herself is super upset. It doesn’t look to me like her 3A now is inconsistent, she looks really confident with it in practice. Just judging by the landing, the timing and the curve look perfect, they have improved so much. She said it’s 10 out 10 hits in practice. So it must be very frustrating not to get it in competition.

I don’t think it’s feasible, but maybe she could try to go to Russian cup stages, do the SP and then withdraw after SP. Just so that she could have more SP skates under her belt with 3A attempts.

TAT still has not commented on Sasha's five quads a week earlier.

It seems to me she does not like Sasha at all.
I'd say Tarasova is afraid to overlook.
When she mentioned Sasha during her commentary work for some competitions she was mostly positive.

Lord knows I despise TAT, but she did comment on Sasha positively after test skates:

This trip to Norwood is actually very helpful, before she comes back to US again for the GP event.

By the way, did Nathan Chen or Yuzuru Hanyu do lots of quads during op? Or does it matter? Maybe Sasha should hold back a little before each formal performance?

Very random question, but did Sasha ever say in an interview that she wanted to be a mathematician after she retired? :scratch2:
I don't remember that. I seem to remember, though, that she mentioned maths was her favourite subject at school. As for the future, she said she wanted to be a UN goodwill ambassador  But you know, at her age, your visions of your future change so often and so quickly .....

I think the question was rhetorical about Sasha's lightning-fast decision to put a Toe loop on the Lutz. 😇

My main thoughts yesterday were that I find it really encouraging that they gave her good - the best? - programs, and I find it really encouraging that they allowed her to go for 5 quads at test skates as well! I imagine she must have been really pleased with that. And... it does make me wonder about the content of their conversations when she was negotiating her return to Sambo. :coffee2:

With the fact that they'd signed her up to go out again so fast after test skates, onto an international stage... I think her team must be feeling really confident in her ability to deliver right now. But I also think they wanted to put her under pressure, to see how she does. A kind of trial by fire. I hope the pressure doesn't get to her, now or later in the season.

Anyway, I'd bet money that the plan is to go for 5 quads at the US Classic as well. And I cannot wait!
So, trial by fire didn't work out quite so well. I'm sure the short recovery time, travelling and timezone difference didn't help.

It's a long season. She'll get this, I have no doubt. I too hope she'll enter as many competitions as possible, to work out the nerves.

She's got this. :)
