Come on, those soundtracks will suit Sasha's temperament perfectly. Just imagine her landing her quads and killing everyones hope with this music :D :D

Can't say I feel better now. Maybe it's my too "oldschool" view of the world, maybe it's my complete disgust for Tarantino (and Besson doesn't have much better credit for me, to be honest ). Of course it's my completely personal matter, but with that objections against "Big Spender" (even if that's completely innocent in the sense of those accusations) it remins me George R. R. Martin. He asked once, why people have only objections to sexual content and yet they are completely happy with the depiction of killing and violence.

However, I must admit that this:

OMG!!! Someone predicted the future :D:D:D

is pretty good joke :)

I wonder why the soundtrack from the film about killing, violence and blood is considered (if that info is true) somehow more appropriate... :scratch2:

I hear you, but that GRRM quote is really only applicable to grown women. They should totally be allowed to own their sexuality, but with children you need to be careful with sensationalizing both. I find kill bill more campy and fun than mean spirited and violent (whereas big spender left a bad taste in my mouth). but I respect your opinion :)

As I mentioned in brackets, Big Spender in fact has nothing to do with sexuality, although is accused of it. But obvious coherence with violence is OK even when children are in it. In films, comics, books, games. I just don't understand.

Well, I don't like Tarantino too. He looks like some makeuped rat and his movies are weird. But "Battle Without Honor or Humanity" is the most badass soundtrack ever. Also this is very motivating music and Sasha will feel herself a little more confident

Thanks :) . We all know, that every joke has a bit of truth. I remember only one year ago, people were so skeptical about her 4S and here we are - TWO QUAD (4S, 4T, also 3Lz3Lo) AND 92.35 TEC :D :D. Who knows, maybe after one year we will see 4Lz, 4S, 4T, 3A and 120 TEC :D ?

That would be definitely incredible. Yet in that case there would be another skeptics about her health, about her ability to keep it for long and whatever :)

Screw them all!!! This kid is making HISTORY, not only gold medals. Just imagine after 50-100 years, if you ask someone, ''Who won WC or OG in 2018''? Who will remember? NO ONE. But if you ask "Who jumped 4T and two quads first in the women's field?" they will tell you: "That was Trusova". Just like Miki Ando's 4S was more remarkable than Sarah Hughes's Olympic Gold.

Absolutely!

Actually, I loved the Big Spender program and considered it one my favorites of the last season.
Yes, I do agree the lyrics are not appropriate for a 13 year old girl, but the program itself was well choreographed and there was nothing inappropriate in the way Sasha was skating it.

There were discussions about Carmen being inappropriate for young girls, about Madama Butterfly or Miss Saigon being inappropriate in general as they present racist stereotypes about Asian women etc.

Yet waving a gun around in a program or skating to a soundtrack from a violent movie is perfectly fine, apparently.

And I'm not saying it's not! I think any music is fine, as long as the program is well choreographed and the skater is able to do it justice.

It's just the obvious double standard that I find confusing. :scratch2:

But the lyrics were there, in the program.

I think it's more easy to portrait something different or just a fragment of a character while skating on an instrumental track, but a song's meaning can be too clear, when it is inappropriate.

Regarding the changes, i find them interesting.

I don't get why that would be a problem? If the music's good, why does it matter where it's from? To me it makes no difference. It depends on the choreography. Of course, if the choreo's about her going on a murderous rampage then that could be an issue. But music's just music. If a film's soundtrack is good, there's no reason even a 5yo child couldn't listen to it even if the movie was forbidden for people under 18.

I agree. But some people condemned Big Spender just by vague feelings that it could be inappropriate due to alleged "sexual content" and for some people there automatically alarm bells started playing. Whether Kill Bill theme is definitely related to this film with all its content, but it is OK :)
Like I said, in pop culture now it is very common to connect kids (youg girls esp., because equality :) ) with violence and blood and nobody cares (like Kick-Ass, Logan and other trash). To be honest I suspect that in fact it has sexual meaning for specific part of the audience
But I don't want to change this thread into platform for my opinions on culture etc.

With Big Spender it's less about the origin and more about the innuendo in the lyrics, really. If it was an instrumental piece I doubt anyone would really care where it's from.
