Alexandra Trusova

Unlikely if Rika cannot even do an optimal double 3A layout. I've said it before - "I don't think you even realize how strong Sasha's layout is". Rika Kihira does 3 non-axel doubles, Trusova 0.

Looking at Russia Cup, Trusova had one clean quad, one quad fall, and one quad pop and her TES was 90.47 while Rika's with a clean skate in her last GP event was 87.17. Trusova's BV was nearly 10 points higher. Yes, indeed, local scoring and inflated GOEs but still.

I am indeed making assumptions on Kihira's ability to land these quads while assuming Sasha doesn't pick up a 3A; looks like she's also on the way off-ice, although thats and probably less progress than Kihira's successful quads on ice.

If Kihira gets 4T, then given that she has been seen landing 3Lo combinations, she could start by removing her solo 3Lo, replacing it with 4T, move her 3Lo to replace the 2T in her 3Lz-2T. Then, if she gets 4S, she can replace her 3S and do 3Lz-Eu-3S, sort of like what Trusova is doing. It's a bunch of assumptions, I know, but I'm sure her coaches are aware of her competition and at least will consider tweakes like what I've proposed. I believe this proposal would leave her as the sole female skater with no doubles, unless Trusova and co get 3A.

I know this may be unrealistic, but it's a fun mental exercise

I hope she is not training to add 4S or 3A now.

She has the hardest layout already, the only thing missing is more consistency with her 4Lz and 4T then she is not even in danger losing to Anna with no falls and 2x4Lz or Alena with potential 3x 3As.

'add' 4S? That was the first quad she ever landed. Although it has been noted that it's not her favourite quad.

But you didn't say "3A would give her an advantage", you said "she'll need 3A".
Yep, exactly. Till the time when quads allowed in SP. And even there ... too risky.

1. Having 3A in SP means no doubles.
2. Having even one 3A in SP means also - no doubles. You need to show axel? One is enough.
(OK, provided no 2T instead of 4T popped).

And what about gossips for two medal sets in Olympics? There were talking to separate SP and LP in medals. Two chances to win a medal instead of only one. Gossips, yep... who knows.

Looking at Russia Cup, Trusova had one clean quad, one quad fall, and one quad pop and her TES was 90.47
She could have 100+ points, why not? Local competition, local board, local measurements...
Would-be running for Senior GP the same program with two heavy loses received less, provided 4Lz3T accounted at all.

How can somebody even go to the ice without 3A...

I remind you, Sasha is the one who possess record for tech score, not Rika. And scored as a junior, she had better overal score than senior Rika. Alina has better score for FP without 3A or quad than Rika. Actually many other skaters have better score without 3A than Rika. What are you trying to achieve here. 3A is not game changer, never was. Can it be useful? Definitely can. Is it essential? Definitely not. So please stop this ridiculous campaign.

 Every time this topic comes up (and it has come up 24895093847502894 times in the last 3 months) you can be sure Arbitrary is at the center of it stirring up crap about how anyone who can't do 3As might as well not show up, because it is the greatest, most superior jump of all jumps in history. ever.

I meant to her layout this season. We haven't seen her do it yet I think?

Why change the jumps that make her win everything this season to try something else before the most important starts...

It's not "before important starts", it's before the whole season (if the whole season was meant as "important starts", than no skater could ever change his jumping portfolio ). And 4Lz/4T is stronger than 4S/4T. Having all three quads in one program is probably too much still for her. But I know, Sasha is just some poor weakling, having just two quads in her long program, with such feeble content she probably end last in JGP final and let her forget about any other titles for the rest of her life

Is Sasha still training the 4S? It seems to have vanished since Junior Worlds last year. I have no doubt she can still do it, but is she actually considering doing it in competition again?
no, not vanished. She jumped 4s at practice - 2018 JGP Kaunas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2zhRcfDz74&feature=youtu.be
It seems that she's more consistent and more confident with 4T and 4Lz right now.
I don't think it very important to do 4 x quads layout right away. I think they feel that 3 quads FS is enough.
Come on, she is not competing against Yuzuru.

No please I don't even want to see 4 quads! Even with 1 quad in her last jgp points are already insane... :)

On November 23, the "Khrustalny" skating rink celebrates its 15th anniversary. We will see gala programs of Olympic champion Alina Zagitova, world junior champion Alexandra Trusova, winners of Junior Grand Prix Alena Kostornaya and Anna Shcherbakova

I wondered why big junior trio is not signed to 5th stage of Russian cup, held in Moscow, now it's clear. Thank you.

I've seen it finally, after her skate she looked like "I won't leave this ice till I do the combo properly"

I‘m happy Sasha messed up her combo today. Weird statement to make? Well, it means she already had her moment of “humanness“ this season. This means we‘ll see a clean JGPF from our power trio as both Alena and Anna had their “random mess up“ moments already. ;)

What I like about Sasha is her mindset. How she was out there doing 3Lz-3Lo after 3Lz-3Lo while Alina was already warming up. She‘s like... a tiny terminator.

She's always struck me as the rare skater who competes better than they practice. Several times she's had crashes in warmups and then hit her quads during the actual skate. Muscle memory must take over during competition.
