So it's been confirmed Sasha's been going to Samokhin's group for extra SS lessons for months on her own initiative. I hope people will finally stop saying that she only wants to jump and doesn't care about PCS.
I would love to see Sasha in a trouser role as Romeo. It would suit her unbelievable technique better, and any comparison would be blocked. It also would be unique in terms of R&J too - just right for Sasha.
I think your idea is absolutely fabulous.PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, dress her in the tunic and tights costume of the ballet and let her perform as Mercutio! Everything she does is historic, but that package would not just set the skating world on fire (again), I think it would break the internet!

I think you’re referring to Sasha being called Brave. That’s the one I hear more often.I love Sasha's skating, but perhaps I admire her even more for her strength and determination. I don't care where it came from, now this girl owns the title "Sasha Fierce.". Haven't I read that she would like to compete against the boys? And one of the coaches at AP dismissed a girls vs. boys jumping contest at their school, because there would be no challenge "unless maybe Nathan Chen."
We know that in the time that Romeo and Juliet was written and first staged, it was standard practice to have young men dress in costume to perform the female roles. I mean this in the most flattering and positive way, because among other things, I can't think of another skater who could not just pull it off, but "smash everyone into pieces."

Thanks for the explanation! I always wondered why Google Translate kept being so mean to Sasha and calling her Coward... Maiia Kromykh's surname is also unfortunately rendered (as 'Lame').I think you’re referring to Sasha being called Brave. That’s the one I hear more often.
The base word of her surname is Trus - which is roughly translated as coward, but since Sasha in reality is anything but that, people like to call her Brave, as sort of an opposite to her surname, as well as admiration of her bravery to go and do something never done before by any other lady.
Fully agreed. What I admire Sasha even more for than her quads is her personality, brave and honest. I still remember how she came up saying how much she respected Zhenya and how much she had learned from her and how fondly she remembered her - just in the very midst of the worst time Zhenya ever had, being called a traitor and all that stuff. None of Eteri girls would ever mention Zhenya then, like they never knew her (not to hold it against them, but it just was the way it was). And here comes this very young prodigy, still a child, with her deep voice, Rozhpunka hair and with her quads, and says all that without a minute hesitation. I remember it made me stop and I thought - oh, well, she really is SOMEONE. There is so much more about her than her quads.I have been fascinated learning about Russian language and culture on these boards, thanks.. And I have definitely seen that bravery in her. (Her interviews and press conference after RusNats last December, que wow!)
Hello! Great first post! I remember hearing about Sasha praising Zhenya, but I didn't realise it was so soon after Med left for Canada. How awesome of her.BTW, I have just joined the forum so let me say hello to everyone!
