Alexandra Trusova

Nothing new. Where do it they that she is looking for a new coach? Plushenko is her coach.
Indeed whoever wrote that article is just trying to stir up some drama. Sasha specifically said she went to AoP to train with Plushy, I'm inclined to think Sergei R going as well was more of a coincidence.

Anyway some posters in the Russian Ladies thread are saying it's all over for her? I can't see why, she was amazing at the Test Skates. It's getting weird over in that thread I tell you...

Yeah, we discussed here after test skates (and interviews with Plushy and Sasha confirmed) that she works with Plush/Mikhailov/Ilinykh. They're quite open with that info and never tried to hide it. Not sure why some people want to keep rehashing the matter every week. Maybe they're hoping that the public memory is short-lived enough for them to pass this off as 'news' while putting a negative spin on it and hoping that others will become too tired to clarify (for the 4th or 5th time) that it's not a big deal.
It's amazing how the media narrative can range from 'Kolyada and Trusova were the highlights of test skates' to 'Trusova is coachless and finished' based on no new information whatsoever. I guess some hope that if you tell a lie often enough it becomes the truth...

No it is not. Or to say it very clearly: It is a conscious lie in public. But whatever? Here everyone can spread lies in public as much as he wants. As long as his name is not Plushenko, of course. Then the liars shout "Liars!"
Chillax. That person clearly read a google translate and misunderstood. Happens quite often here.

The article says “Trusova is training with Plushenko, Mikhailov and Ilynykh”, it doesn’t say she’s coach-less.
It’s a clarification for some people. I, for one, thought that Mikhailov is an additional specialist working with Sasha, on top of working with Rozanov. Didn’t know that they were completely separated, and Mikhailov replaces Rozanov now. They worked together during summer camp, so it’s not something that was clear as day.

Agree with your point. I should have said 'social media narrative' since that's where the extrapolation mainly happens.
I'm a nerd and check stuff on Allskaters.info so I knew beforehand that Mikhailov and Rozanov work in different groups (both with Plushenko), but indeed it wasn't clear if that was going to change with Aliona's arrival.
BTW the normal group structure collapses a bit during summer camp since only a select few skaters go to the training bases (e.g. Sokolovskaya and Rukavicin each took a couple of skaters so they intermingled a bit and shared the same sessions). I saw a vid of Plushenko, Mikhailov and Sasha doing SBS 2As for fun so I suppose Mikhailov began working with her then (not sure about Rozanov though).

Completely relaxed, I can tell you that I have seldom laughed like that.
"That person" has absolutely not misunderstood anything. No translator in the world (not even Google) adds additional facts to the text to be translated. Here the false claim was made deliberately that Sasha is currently looking for a new coach. This is a fact. Everything else is an excuse.

Maybe Sasha can go full charged with 3Ax and multiple quads, but winning is a much more difficult task. Judges must agree..

Lol, she can totally do it though.

What is the point of so much effort and such great risk at the moment? I think even Sasha can see that this would be a cannon shot at sparrows. But I think 4 quads (3 landet) are quite possible for that crazy chick. 😄

I don’t think it’s a risk. It’s just a cup stage, where even 4-5 place would be enough to qualify. The risk would be at a higher stakes competition, like RusNats. Right now, she only has 1 person to lose to in case she goes for a risk, imo. So worst case scenario - she risks and becomes 2nd. At rusnats it will be a different game altogether, with everyone coming guns blazing. If she ever needed a practice stage to test out tech content - then Rus Cup stages are perfect for that.

I meant the risk of making jumps that are not yet finished (risk of injury?) and above all, with a view to future assessment, it cannot be meaningful to manifest her status as a fall pilot (Does this word exist in English?).

That would depend on how ready these jumps are. Obviously, if the rate of success is less that 30-50%, there’s no need to risk potential injury for nothing.

I don’t know. I think it depends on how Sasha feels herself. Last season I remember her saying that she needs to go for more jumps and have a room for error for her personal confidence. If it’s still the case, she would probably decide to add one more. I would generally say, rarely it happens that skaters land all of the content, when it’s upgraded, from their first attempt. Usually takes a few competitions to build up towards a clean performance. So, would depend on how trainings are going and how she feels now. Hopefully, everything is great, and Sasha would unleash her dragon fire on Megasport arena :)

To work out a strategy for Sasha regarding the amount of quads must be quite tricky - I wouldn't wanna be in her coaches' shoes right now. On the one hand of course the most important thing must be to stay healthy and don't take any unnecessary risks. On the other hand, now really would be the right moment to try out a more difficult setup. Even if she falls three times, Sasha should still get third or fourth place easily at CoR. And if she really aims for a five quad program for the Olympic season or even for Rus Nats, she needs to get comfortable with the layout. Then again, there's also the question if she can put a triple Axel in. From a strategic point of view, it would make more sense to train the 3A and Sasha also mentioned in her interview at Kislodovsk that this is her next goal. But she always found quads easier than the 3A, so I wonder...
