This highly promising and very interesting pair needs a thread here. They just won Russian Cup Final and a few weeks ago they placed 4th at the Russian Junior Nationals. They are skating their first season together. Pepeleva skated two seasons with Sergey Bezborodko before teaming up with Pleshkov. Last season Pleshkov skated with Anna Kaportseva and before that he skated two seasons with Albina Sokur

They have been assigned to JGP Usa.

Hopefully they will get 2 JPG event this season and will skate at the JGP Final.

Last season they were basically robbed the JGP Final spot by the Russian Fed who refused to give them a 2nd JGP event despite the fact that Pepeleva/Pleshkov did very well at their 1st JGP event and they would have made it to the JGP final very easily if given a 2nd event. The spot were instead given to a very much inferior team who had no hope of getting a 2nd JGP event and therefor had no hope of qualifying to the JGP Final, and who soon after end up splitting up.

Quite honestly, I was a bit disappointed with their skating at this event. They improved their transitions and skating between the elements, they are not as careful as they were last year, but the technical side somehow didn’t work. After watching the test skates, I thought that they could do better than than Akhanteva/Kolesov this season. After watching this event, I don’t think so any more.

Well, they didn't do well at JGP Poland but nevertheless they still have a pretty good chance at qualifying for the JGP Final. I hope they will get over this disappointment quickly.

They have now qualified for the JGP Final. Hopefully they will skate a lot better at the JGP Final than what they have skated so far this season.

Alina and Roman were 10th at nationals and probably won't qualify for the national team next year. Such a shame, they really are a beautiful team with such potential. I wonder if she is going through puberty, since her jumps are struggling. And the programs and packaging aren't my favorite. The free, while elegant, is rather one toned and unmemorable, especially in comparison to Romeo and Juliet. I hope they can get it together for the Cup final.

Fun fact: Alina has skated in pairs since she was 8. That's a lot of experience. https://allskaters.info/alina_pepeleva/

New short program from the cup final where they were 4th: https://youtu.be/XjmZrcq7gSg?t=6650

I like this program, and it seems like one of the main reasons Nina Mozer is coming back is to coach P/P. It's a shame this season didn't turn out as they had hoped, as they can clearly do everything it takes to get to the top 5 in Russia or even the world, but I don't think I've seen a clean competition from them in forever.
