One of the few times I've ever quoted myself if not the first time. Not only would Alina have been second in the short program I think she would have been third overall and on the European team. Hmmmm. How many more chances is she going to actually have to make the Euro or world team? I can only hope the time off is recharging her batteries. But Alina really isn't getting time off because of shows and training when her group. By the way I am expecting her to return to competition next fall. It would be very disappointing if she does not.

Midway through the autograph session Leysan and Sabrina appear!

Ondrej is awesome. So much personality and charm. I am a fan for life.

Alina was getting it done in that session. That crowd was massive. I understand her setting boundaries about being hugged and touched. If she lets one person do it the entire crowd will want to. That's....a lot.

It must have been quite intimidating to see (and hear!) all those people begging for you. Control and security were strict and it seems only children and an occasional parent were allowed in, which is good I think.

One hour of sitting through this, and you're emotionally worn out for the day.

Yes, I think it can be more exhausting than the show :)

Though of course it is heartwarming to see how many fans (esp. children) Alina have.

Parameters are injuries if one of 3A gets injured before Europeans or worlds Eteri will try to force Alina back on the team ahead of Liza or Zhenya etc. It would have been too much for Alina to train for Nationals and the Navka show at the same time. Alina chose this Navka show. but if she had training for Nationals the way she normally would I think she would have finished third and would be on the national team for Europeans anyway.

Just to clarify myself with parameters I didn't meant injures in the upcoming 2 months. Quick is for me September. History is not written with ifs, since Alina was not there end of story. If you ask me generally, if Alina is capable to podium? I would say yes, in every competition.

If she is doing those autograph sessions after each show (twice a day) every day that is a lot. Ondrej made a good partner for her. They worked efficiently together.

I am so impressed her mom and sister stood in line for that! Her family really are lovely people.

I think Navka said that it won't be every show where Alina signs autographs. At her previous shows she herself was doing some but not all of them. She explained that it is too exhausting (can't agree more!!!).

She wouldn't want her main star to tire out by these sessions, she's a reasonable person.
