I'm not assuming Alina would struggle, definitely not because "she can't win". There are many skaters that "can't win" on every competition, after all, and they compete. Alina would definitely be among those who can medal, at least.
I'm glad Alina is happy, she made this choice of all, but it's not the "Alina's only and permanent choice". Again, this should be taken as a break or vacation of a kind (with a load of work to do and learn), not as an emergency exit.
I felt weird because Rusnats without her is losing part of the feeling.
Rusnat is the most stressful event. Alina struggled last year and I don’t want to see that again and to be honest I really think the 3A will be at Europeans and worlds. She knows she can’t compete with them now without a quad or a 3A.
Taking a break was the best decision. She knows what is the best thing to do, she has to prevent herself mentally and physically.
