That link took me to another interview.

This one worked for me.

From an Olympic Champion to an Olympic Champion. Tatiana Navka is the sweetest 🥰

2006 Turin Olympic champion in ice dancing Tatyana Navka congratulated the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic champion in solo skating Alina Zagitova on her birthday.

“Young, gentle, beautiful and talented Alina, happy birthday!

Our Sleeping Beauty, may there be more magical and fabulous moments, professional and personal joys in your life, more than one Olympus is waiting for you to conquer, but I am sure that you will definitely take them all with the perseverance and character of an athlete!

Let your Olympic victory be only a springboard / base / trampoline for the flight of your life, because life is beautiful, amazing and multifaceted!

I wish that you are not afraid of anything in this life, that you only go forward, do not miss the slightest chance, do not hesitate and take everything that is given to you from God! Be happy and also please your army of fans with performances on the ice!

And you and I still have many new discoveries ahead! " - wrote Navka.

Tributes to Alina's Birthday on Sports.ru. Use Google Chrome's auto translator (and if you read comments make sure to sort by 'best') or just enjoy the beautiful photographs of Alina 🥰 -

There are three more blogs I didn't link (including the questionable 'headliner') but they are easy enough to find. :)

This wonderful article has a gorgeous compilation of photos and some truly appreciative words for Alina. :thank: Alexander Makarov!

In November 2020, it was Zagitova who received the Most Popular Sportswoman prize. In the voting of the jury and the fans, she bypassed Maria Sharapova, with whom many associate Russia in the context of sports and media achievements. Yulia Efimova was also left behind, blowing up Instagram with candid photos.

Zagitova doesn't need this. In many ways, sympathy and love for her is due to a slightly closed way. This is not about puritanism. Alina can be seen in short skirts, tight-fitting sportswear, dresses with a neckline. But this is not an attempt to attract a male audience, but a natural desire to look beautiful. No kinks.

Zagitova, by her own example, shows hundreds of other successful athletes that a different life is possible outside the ice / court / pool. And it is no less interesting. It is important to understand this especially in light of the tragedy that happened to the figure skater Ekaterina Aleksandrovskaya.

But on Zagitova's birthday, I don't want to talk about the bad. She has a wave of tremendous popularity, and so there are enough critics who track all the actions with a magnifying glass. It is all the more pleasant to see how Alina copes with pressure.

For example, while working on the Ice Age show. The Olympic champion herself was well aware that she still had much to strive for in attempts to achieve excellence in oratory and the ability to stay in frame. But she did not give up and looked more confident with each release. And most importantly, she did not withdraw, did not become embittered, but continued to support the participants in the show, realizing that it was much more difficult.

....

Now Zagitova is the main media star of Russian sports. Only the captain of Zenit and the Russian national team Artem Dzyuba can compete with her. And even then it is often not thanks to sports achievements, but to scandalous videos and statements.

Alina is not like that. She is still as closed as possible, she does not say too much. But if he takes something to heart, then he cannot stay away. So she ended up at the very Kazan school in which a former student killed nine people on May 11. We can say with confidence that it was not a PR move, but an emotional impulse - to come and lay flowers ...

Alina is interesting to watch. What will happen to her next? How will her life unfold? Will she become a TV presenter or coach? Now Zagitova is studying at the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) at the Faculty of Journalism, but has already submitted documents to the Russian State University of Physical Culture, Sports, Youth and Tourism (RSUFKSMiT). Or, at some point, Alina will decide to go into the shadows and live without the sight of hundreds of cameras? As Julia Lipnitskaya did, at 22 she has already become a mother.

But whatever she chooses Zagitov, she will always be supported. No other Russian athlete has such a number of loyal fans.

Happy birthday, Alina!
