Alina Zagitova

You know, busy as she is (which probably suits Alina and her hard-working character) after reading a slew of posts "elsewhere" I am glad she is out of competition. I am sorry I never saw her live but will certainly try to catch her performing at an ice show. Same for the others who have retired, Evgenia Medvedeva, Elizabet Tursynbaeva etc.
Haha, I saw several posts there praising "Alina is smart". Of course Alina is smart, beautiful, but she is also hard working.

I like to re-watch Alina's competition performances, always with great joy. Nowadays I added Kamila to the list. Somewhere I read that Kamila likes to re-watch Alina whenever she feels stressed out (forgot the exact words), Kamila is smart.

At that time, I just moved to Eteri Georgievna's group - just when they were in Korea. I trained in her group for a month without her. So I didn't know girls before the Games. I didn't watch the competition live - it was early, very four or five in the morning, I was asleep. But when I woke up, the first thing I did was grab my phone and look at the results. I remember that I was very happy for Alina [Zagitova] and Zhenya [Medvedeva]. I reviewed their skates several times.

When they returned, first of all I met Alina Zagitova . We huddled together in the hall, and then chatted during stretching. There were several of us and we talked about pets. Alina was then very modest, very calm, very pleasant to talk to. She still is.

to anyone still wondering why people love Alina, here's just one reason, from Keira @fso:

"The media post Alina's dialogues with the participants after their skates at the IA, and yesterday the Borodin / Solovyov pair fell and any other presenter would torment the annoyed Xenia and Dmitry with questions, and just look what Alina did. She really is in her place, especially since she does not have all the problems that are attributed to her in her role as a host. For one, just for her empathy towards the participants, I already want to watch and listen to her, and not the stereotypical presenters, who would put themselves in the foreground.

Zagitova: “Thank you very much. I will not torture you. Please don’t worry. I also didn't manage to show everything in some skates, I also fell - you can find it on the Internet (laughs). But then you always get up and move on."

Alina has an incredible gift of persuasion - from Maya's recent interview :)

- It seems to me that if you collect all the animals of the students of your group, you can open a separate zoo. Sasha Trusova alone has so many dogs!

- And a cat too. I have loved cats since childhood: I hugged all the cats of my friends so that when they saw me they began to run away and hide under the sofas. But my brother and I were allergic, so I well understood that it made no sense for me to have a cat. But once in Novogorsk on the last day of the training camp somebody left three kittens at the doors. Alina [Zagitova] picked them up. It was our last day, we collected our stuff ready to leave, and Alina went to my mother and persuaded her to take one kitten. I didn't even hope, I didn't ask, but now I have a cat.

- Well, who can resist if Alina asks.
