Alina Zagitova

I'm the same way - I tried when I was 13 (with hockey skates) - but it wasn't pretty.

Reminds me of an "Everybody Loves Raymond" episode where Robert said "I think I could have been a good hockey player" and Raymond replied "Yeah - but eventually you would have to let go of the boards!"

Alina's dedication to that whole show was awesome. Up for any challenge.

:laugh2::rofl2::tantrum: Yup that would be me. ELR was just so good, I still laugh at that episode where they had a story about Robert's first birthday pictures, when his parents told him that they never had parties for him as a little kid, they just smeared his lips with cake and took pictures.

When Putin takes Alina up on her offer to teach him how to skate maybe I can join in and discover my very deeply buried, and super well hidden, skating talent (or in my case, actually being able to stand up unassisted talent).

Maybe lesnar001, you and me can start a campaign: Alina please teach us how to skate. Though, in my case, poor Alina, she'll be on her next Olympics by the time I let go of the boards.

Sign over the door at Alina's....

Skating lessons for fans given here .... if you're looking for miracles - the church is down the street :handw:

Good to have a father as coach

I wonder why so many workout videos in insta-stories. Where are the flamingoes?! And mocktails? :) I hope she is not really pressured to show the more serious side of her only. I really miss those periscope videos of her (and Sabina) fooling around.

I think she is showing a more mature side of her, her Instagram follower count grew super fast. I remember (think it was the Bastille Post) mentioning that before the Olympics Alina had 50.000 Instagram followers, now she has over 436.000. That must give her, at least, a little bit of pause.

I enjoyed those fun videos from the not so distant past too.

Wow - that was a big jump in followers. She is actually is #5 ranked on figure skating instagrams

Also - I am quoting this poster from the "State of Russian Ladies" thread.... (I hope this is OK to do)
Misha Ge had set up a mini obstacle course thingy - there are 3 little vids included - as can be seen it is not that easy!
That was super impressive from Alina! :)

And the closest comparison I can think of is during reheresals for the Olympic Gala where Misha Ge challenged a few others to a similiar sort of obstacle course (less the little jumping things) https://myjunkisyuzuruhanyu.tumblr....misha-ges-ice-bottle-challenge-vid-1-misha-is - on the video click on the arrows to see a few other skaters - including Yuzu! - try it!

I wonder if training that sort of thing would be helpful for skaters, looks more exciting than figures, but helps with your edges!
