Alina Zagitova

I don't think Mai will win this. She'll probably end up on the podium, though.
And Zagitova has a high GP score from CoC and will probably do all right here too.

I think if Zagi will manage to be at least on 4th she'll be in because if I'm not mistaken she'll win the tie breaks with those who have 2+3
So practically in the scenario Mai, Sotskova, Osmond(in this order and with Mai having better scores than Zagi), Zagi will be out.

I'm so worried that she's just going to break under all this pressure :( she's only 15 years old!

Also I hated how Eteri was with Alina after she came off the ice. 😡

I don't even know what to say... for some strict coaching works better than all is love, all is sweet.

I'd love to see Alina having the Terminator face a la Medvedeva tomorrow :))
but she really looked down in K&C.
Hope Daniil will make some jokes:cool14: and everything will be fine:pray:

I’m praying yes. The SP is working I just think she may be feeling the pressure. They are such uncharacteristic mistakes.
Yes, she has much bigger problems with pressure than I thought before.
And I'm afraid Eteri is not helping with this issue. She seemed colder than the ice in Grenoble :(

Did someone else notice the reaction of Eteri and Daniil when the announcer said that Zagi is the youngest of the competitors?
They seem that they didn't like the remark :D.

I don't know what to say, but, for example, I'm so terrible afraid of speaking in public and I have to do that because of my job. And when I'm with my big boss that I'm really scared I manage to focus better, because the fear of speaking in public is replaced by the fear of my angry boss.
So I think if she is afraid more of Eteri than of the real skating it can work :D.

Eteri's girls are used to cold treat, I suppose. Remember the coach travelling with her juniors this year. That one was as cold as a huge iceberg...

I think if Eteri can make Alina tomorrow to be really angry, furious and not vulnerable everything will be good.

What happens after the competition? Would Eteri have words with Alina (would she shout?!) or would she just ignore her? 🤔

I think people are too much on her coaches. It’s normal for skaters to have an off day. She is so young and under much pressure. There is only so much the coaching team can do.

I don't know how normal it is because she has these problems with the short program in every competition. It's obvious it's a mental problem cause she just did all the jumps in the warm-up.
The coaches should help her because they know her better. They should know the causes of these problems and how she can overcome them.

It's not about nerves, it's about a short program too dense for anyone. Even Medvedeva would have problem to skate it.
They have to rethink the entire program, remove some element and focus on arms and legs movements.

I think people are panicking too much here. Essentially she missed her 3lz-3lo here. Here's the problem. It has nothing to do with the layout of the program, she missed a jump combination. It happens. When it happened she improvised and tried add the loop to the flip instead all of this ended up in her panicking and underrotations. Her 2A has stablised, the entry, the exit and the jump. She just needs to control her nerves and keep it together with the jump combination. We've seen her do in the Short before and in the Free Skate every time so obviously she can do it. Bad days happen, I'd rather it was here than at the Russian Nationals or the Olympics. The key thing is she and her team are honest with themselves about things to work on. Now's not the time to be reworking programs. The original entry to the 2A was too hard and not stable and wasn't worth the risk so I agree that something like that should've been changed but now everything should be just about individual elements. That's my $0.02 anyway I have full belief in Alina and team. This may be the fanboy in me talking about I still fully believe that Alina can win the Free Skate and the whole event tomorrow.
