Alina Zagitova

I've been thinking about the sp lately and I wanted to speculate about how I think it will be just for fun. First I believe they'll use the Phantasia suite, which is only instrumental and has a beautiful violin, that we've seen complements Alina's skating and maybe skating in general very well. I also think they'll use at least three pieces, and that it will be similar to the idea of the black swan of starting light and melodic and then turning dark. Example, starts with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGK3KCaAyR0 or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFS0XU3FIuE and then goes to something more dramatic like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5QSSpQcD2Y and finishes with something even stronger. I'm really excited to see what they'll choose to do, this is only my opinion.

I also wonder if considering the change of rules they'll change completely the construction of the programs.

Oh and sorry if this has been discussed before.

Oh i'd like to discuss the possibilities too since the thread is pretty quiet recently and i just checked the pieces you posted and WOW i love the idea of doing these instrumentals instead of the other ones we usually hear. This would be very good for Alina to show her more elegant and fluid side. I don't know if you guys remember but when Med-Osmond-Alina did that Dream performance at stars On Ice, just the short time Alina was on the ice, she looked so soft and elegant, i was surprised to see that side of her. She definitely has it, and it'd be great if her team could let the judges see that

I love your opinion about the songs. I’m very curious to see what they will do to make Alina’s POTO a fresh one. Maybe they will use a piece that is not related with POTO at all (as Daniil did with Moonlight). I’m also excited to see the costume - even if the costume she will use isn’t the “official” one and she ends up changing it

Thank you! I had forgotten about that, I also think there is a high chance they'll add something very different to the mix to set the tone of the story. And yesss the costume. I really liked the past two costumes from her programs, but that same lady made Evgenia's Anna Karenina costume, which I didn't really like but I guess it wasn't too bad. I'm sure this one will be awesome anyway so waiting it's all that's left..

I was also thinking of how delicate Alina looked in that performance to imagine her in some of the POTO's pieces that I've been listening, I bet she'll fit perfectly.

I think after seeing Alina in a tutu for so long, people are gonna be like this :eekn: when they see her in different dresses haha. I also really loved Med's AK dresses so and most of her dresses actually so if Alina gets her dresses from the same lady i'm not against it.

Random but: do you have any idea if the Shibs are gonna be at The Ice this year? just cause i'd love to see Alina in one of their vlogs

Here is a link to their website and the cast list.
I don't see the Shibs listed :(

aw what a shame! i hope her doing ice shows will give her the occasion to make some friends. She looked quite lonely during the gala in Pyeongchang (or maybe i'm just reading too much into things)

There were a lot of pics of Alina interacting with other skaters at the ice shows she did in Japan and Korea this past spring. She also was a contestant on a Japanese game show with Kaetlyn Osmond, Wakaba Higuchi and Javier Fernandez. And she was a guest (for about the whole hour I think) on a national Japanese television talk show from that same time. So I think she will be just fine :).

That being said, she did look a little lonely at that gala, but maybe she was just feeling overwhelmed with the realization that just the night before she became an Olympic champion in her very first season at the senior level. All was OK though, when Tessa Virtue gave her a big hug :luv17:.

Alina congratulating the winner of a contest to which she supplied the prize (plushy and a signed postcard)

Since Google translate is making the text incomprehensible I don’t know the specifics of it.

"plushy" - you mean Evgeny Plushenko was the prize???? :p

I love Alina's voice - I hope she never loses the cuteness of her voice even as she gets older.

I love Alina’s voice too, and she looks so cute and happy in this video.

Imagine a contest with the real Plushy as a prize, with his huge fan base they would need to hire an army of judges to sort the entries.

I agree with you, and actually think she does quite well for someone so young (15/16), specially someone not so fluent in foreign languages.

She is not a big extrovert, yet she holds her own, looks people in the eyes, participates in everything and engages with others. And makes a point to let it be known when she is a big fan of other skaters by seeking them out and congratulating them.

During that game show in Japan she was comfortable and had fun, talked to everyone.

As she does more competitions in the senior scene (remember this was her first senior season) and takes part in more shows I’m sure she’ll be even more comfortable and her friendly and kind personality will project even more.
