Alina Zagitova

I forgot the 3rd solo triple! (I was thinking 3-3-2 combo - when it is 3-2-2)
Yes - it would have to be triple lutz towards the end - in case an "emergency" 3lz-3lo is needed!

Maybe she can do the 3 combos at the end in her exhibition - just to show it can be done

Way too risky for so many reasons (stamina, no way to "re-do" in case a combo goes awry)

3 combos as the jumping passes on her exhibition would be the ultimate [emoji1303][emoji2], I’m impressed that she already does her 3Lz+3Lo most of the time (under show lights!!).

She has stamina to spare, more so now that she’ll distribute her jumps a bit more, but doing the last 3 all as combos would leave no room for eventual emergencies. I’m impressed that, as hard as DQ was, this last year I’ve never seen her leave the ice panting.

Yeaaay! i left to take a shower and eat, i'm back and we're back to discussing Alina's next season already. :yahoo:
I do agree with you guys that quads aren't worth the trouble right now. There are a few jumps she can improve to get higher GOE. Toeloop, salchow and 2axel. Her other jumps seem fine to me but if they can train her to gain even more ice coverage then great. The new GOE system can be tricky. If the ISU does their job right (i don't trust them to do that honestly) it can be pretty dangerous to some skaters. If they're really gonna be as strict as they tried to make us believe they'll be, having textbook perfect jump will put her ahead of the other girls.

Also who knows, if she keeps working on bettering her jumps she might jump a quad in the future. I personally don't think they are impossible for senior girls to do and i'm dying to see a senior girl prove it's possible someday.

I’m curious to see the new GOE at work in a competition, then we will know roughly what to expect.

Alina will be up on “Olympic Gold solo medalists victory tour” for the Grand Prix along with Hanyu só I’m hoping they get top judging material too. Yeah, a girl can dream.

You wish you were the only dreamer, but you are not alone! LOL

I think about how this next Grand Prix will go,
and every time my brain tells me "No! There is no way Alina's going clean every competition",

my heart goes "...well why the heck not?" :)

Last season she got number 1 at all her Grand Prix events (and all her other events too apart from WC) so let’s all go there and think “why not”.

Win it all Alina!!!

I am so happy to come back and see that this thread has flourished. You can tell that slowly but surely the offseason is passing by, and days with more "goodies" are coming. I am so excited for the next Ice Show..I wonder if Alinka's dress is ready, or she will wear a different dress, just for this show?
Regarding the jumps layout for the next season, based on Anna Shcherbakova's layout that it's already known, we can draw some conclusions about Eteri's approach with this new rules; her last 3 jump passings are:
3Lz-3Lo
3F-2T-2Lo
3Lz

These are jumps that Alinka also performs, so I think it may be the same for her, too, with the final 3Lz as a back-up, in case she won't be able to add the 3Lo after the first one. I think it's a difficult, but smart layout, and it can work pretty well for Alinka, too. I am expecting a great artistical development for her and further improvement for her current jumps. No quads..(yet )

I hope she does a Charlotte or some other crazy transition into that final lutz. Arms above of course. Ending with a BANG! :)

And switch to a simpler entrance when she has to fill in a loop at the end.

Transitions are something that I’m very curious when I think about theses new programs. Don Quixote was full of amazing transitions and my favorite moment is the split jump into the 3S. I hope they keep it in Carmen. Black Swan was amazing with the back charlotte spiral into the split jump into the bracket turn and then into the 2A. In the beginning of the season she was performing only the Charlotte spiral into the 2A, but she was not consistent and they decided to change it. She also does the Charlotte spiral into the 3Lz in Afro Blue. I think it’s crazy difficult and I hope they add it to Carmen too, like you said. I’m curious to see what they will do with the transitions this season
