Alina Zagitova

I think she'll keep them, too. I've read about other skaters who said that they are so accustomed to them that it's easier to jump with rippons, than without. And Alinka's are really gorgeous :luv17:

On a side note, I've found a new jewel, to cheer you up even more :luv17:

I hope she keeps the tanos and rippons also.
But she can do jumps both with her arm/arms extended and without.
She usually doesn't extend her arms on her combos.

Just clicked on it and it got deleted :sad4:

It was a cute picture, she appeared to be holding a bundled up baby (but you couldn't see the baby).

Edit: Seems like it’s back!! I can see it using GS app on my phone (shows up when I look at my post).

It is coming up "page not available" for me.

Ambitious risky layout:

3F
3S
2A-3T
2A (back up)
---
3Lz-3Lo
3Lz (back up)
3F-2T-2Lo

This program is even more demanding than her previous one because she has not only some choreo and steps going on before the big combo, but already 4 jumps.

A safer option:

3Lz-3Lo (higher GOE because of better and cleaner execution on fresh legs)
3Lz (back up)
3S
2A
---
2A-3T
3F-2T-2Lo (possible back up for -3T)
3F (back up for either -2T-2Lo or -3T)

I like your layouts.

I think she can safely switch things around to do 2 combos as the last jumping passes (others did it last year), would be a good idea to keep that extra 3Lz in there in case she needs to alter the order of the jumps in last 3 passes. I believe her two 3Lz (the combo one and the single jump one) will not be one right after the other, so she'll have to do the 2 combos one right after the other either way say.....

3Lz+3Lo
3F+2T+2Lo
3Lz

Her FS at 2018 Europeans opened with (she did the same exact jump order on her Oly Team Event FS):

3Lz+3Lo
2A+3T
3F+2T+2Lo (then 4 single jumps as last passes)

Since she was back loading everything it made sense to start with the combos (others that do 2 combos into the "last 3 jumping pass" zone open their FS with 3 jumps or at least 1 jump), you can see them here at the Oly Individual FS tally http://skatingscores.com/2018/oly/ladies/long/

Those Moms were having a field day with the kids that day, major photo shoot in motion.

Impressed with the amount of collaboration they got.

It is coming up "page not available" for me.

I can see it at the GS app (the Forum app, on my phone, it shows a preview of instagram posts when you scroll through the Forum, I can see it then).

But when I click on my link to open the picture on instagram it is gone.

Mysteries of technology. I do guess the original post of the photo is gone from instagram.

I am becoming more and more excited for Alina's new programs!

Today I was watching old skating performances in youtube (because I have an exam tomorrow and I prefer pure procrastination with some high-class figure skating on stressful days :D) so watching Plushenko's Carmen at the 2002 Olympics made me think that the music is so powerful and with so many music accents that it gives many opportunities for Alina to accentuate her jump landings just like DQ. The problem is that this perfect synchronization to the accents will happen only after many run-throughs and maybe I shouldn't expect her to fit each landing to the music at the beginning of the season but hopefully she will develop feeling for the Carmen Suite with time.

About the jump layout - I think that Alina will put the 3 Lz-3 Lo combo as first jumping pass in the second, bonus part of the program, but if she can't get it right at the first 2 GP events, I think Eteri will decide to put the combo at the beginning for the more important events like Russian Nationals, Europeans and Worlds, so that Alina has 'fresh' legs and guaranteed high GOEs for it.

Aliev is already on the flight to Japan, I assume Alina is going today or tomorrow at the most.

YAY!!! Come on The Ice, I want pictures and lots of info.
