Alina Zagitova

They did not boo her. They boo the officials and the referee. Fans have boo officials before. It is nothing new. It just should not have continued on so long in my opinion.

Serena and her behavior and a stickler to the rules chair umpire were the reason the crowd was booing which made the 20 year old Naomi Osaka cry. Alina is 4 years younger than Osaka. She is still so young and still growing. We forget that sometimes.

The amount of toxic comments towards skaters makes me wonder what do people do in their free time except being nasty and insulting to people they don't even know personally... I read so many bad things after the test skates and it's the early season.

Let’s get back to talking about figure skating ;)

For anyone still on the fence about Alina’s Carmen program, I strongly recommend you watch this video which is from a much better angle and allows you to see her expressions and gesture closeup. This program is much more mature than Don Quixote and has some lovely strory teling elements (like her hands behind her back during crossovers). At this angle I don’t know how anyone can say the step sequence is just copied and pasted. I think it really matches the music and is so lovely!

I think the program is relativly well build. It's a difficult one for sure, TES and PCS wise. PCS wise I think she needs to sharpen a little bit more her small moves that hit some notes, to make them more clear. Then she can add more on the generall backgroud expression and feeling of a Carmen. Each time adding bit by bit some more details in PE and IN at the end it has the potential to become a nice program. CO and TR are there already.

Thank you ...Santa ???!!! :thank::clap::yes2:

About Alina‘s FS to finally talk about something related to HER again: I‘m surprised at how much I like it already. Even with the falls. I have to admit, I watched it a lot already and even though this unnecessary foot raising still somehow bothers me, there are a lot moments I appreciate. It‘s mature and dark and if she is fully into it and can show emotions and interpret it, it will be awesome! I want her to have time for this task, she doesn‘t have to be perfect now, or even when the GP starts. She probably will need a few months to really “get“ this program. But I’m excited to see the final version with her usual competitive fire in the eyes and her spirit on the ice!

Christmas came a little early this season :biggrin:

And it brought some great surprises :biggrin: :yahoo: Now we can comment Alinka's competitions together, and all the other competitions too, and have our hearts beating faster when we see a tutu or a Carmen/POTO program. Only we can understand those emotions :biggrin:
