Alina Zagitova

Alina Ilnazovna Zagitova, if you are reading here please continue to post updates of Masaru and Owlina's continuing relationship. We are all invested now. :) There are strict rules in this forum against shipping, but I can't help myself, I just love them together. :luv17:

Also thank you for a wonderful, courageous performance this weekend. We all enjoyed this historical moment of two Olympic champions competing on the same ice for the first time in 26 years. Legends!

Oh yes I just called her name and she looked right up. The owl was 39 euros I think, I bought it at a store like 15 minutes north of city center Helsinki. I saw it and knew I had to get it for her. There was nothing better this weekend than seeing her happy. I’m finding all of the attention around Owlina to be hilarious and cool. Looking forward to seeing her in CoR

One year ago today - November 5, 2017....

Marks the very first time I saw Alina skate.
It was her LP at Cup of China, which was broadcast on NBC that day.

I already knew she won, because the actual competition was the day before.

I absolutely loved the program and her. Physically, she reminded me of a young (1984) Katarina Witt.
The costume was adorable and so was she.

I've always been a big fan of DQ music anyway, but this program blew me away.
I had never seen anything like it!
I knew she "backloaded" because I had read accounts of the competition.
But the way the program kept building and building was amazing.
And the jumps - all within a time period of about 90 seconds - and to me, not rushed at all!
I was on my feet giving her my own "Standing O"

BTW, I looked up the ISU results, and her score was quite similar to what she just got in Helsinki!

What is weird is that I had forgotten who else was there. (Liza T, Elena Radionova, Mai Mihara)
The only other program I remember was Wakaba Higuchi's because I was extremely impressed by her also.
I think they skated back-to-back that day - so it was really a treat for me. 2 great programs back to back.

That is all....

What a great story!!!!

I was actually gathering some data to make my event review on the post that's been placed at The Edge and Alina's worst SP of last season was at IdF with 62.46 total score. There she missed the 3Lo on the 3Lz, her 3Lz got negative GOE leaving it with a value similar to the one she got here for the Lz. IdF she got 2.52 for the 3Lz at GP Helsinki she got 2.95. Then at IdF, since she never tried the Lo on the Lz she attempted to add it to the 3F, it got called UR and her 3F+3Lo combo got a TES of 7.89. At GP Helsinki her solo 3F performed perfectly got a TES of 7.80. So close to each other in value, right? The crazy coincidences of life.

She made up the difference between the scores at IdF and GP Helsinki in PCS (4.58 higher here), her TES was only 0.86 higher at Helsinki largely made up on the 2A and the other non-jump elements.

My friend and I were wondering how high Alina jumps and he did this https://scontent-ber1-1.xx.fbcdn.ne...=357dadc0b3e96aebcafe81575ae9c5bc&oe=5C41A57F
:clapper:

So, the slow motion videos (when zoomed, the quality dropped so they are not zoomed but you can see the jumps well)

If you go to a competition and want to be at seats with a great view of her combos, take the ones on the opposite side of the judges in the right corner!

And finally, a small treat - the intro :D

Waw ..thank you !!! very impressed :agree:

Welcome to the doggy side, my Masaru avatar friend. Fruitpie has adorable Masaru who looks harmless, I have adorable Masaru who is trying to look scary, and you have scary Masaru who is striking fear into the hearts of Alina's enemies. Masaru power!

I am awaiting the day when the three of you post here at the same time. I think 3 Masarus in a row wins the "progressive" jackpot at any casino!!!!

Once again thank you for all that you've done. :)

Not only is Alina extremely lucky to have you as her fan, but we feel the same.
Twice now you have shared your experiences with us and it brings the competitions much closer to us than just watching on TV or youtube.

The slo-mo videos that your friend did were excellent.
I think its great that not only is he a fan now, but he is actively participating, so to speak.

I would ask how he did the height measurement/comparison in the photo, but I probably wouldn't understand it anyway

And thank you for the seating info.
I have never been to a competition. I went to a "Champions On Ice" show that came to Boston in 1993 (1992 Olympics stars), but that is it.
Seat location certainly does matter, because it is not like watching a broadcast where the camera is constantly following the skater.
