Alina Zagitova

“How many gold medal fingers am I holding up.”

Cause, really, since 2016 Alina only missed Gold in two competitions she attended. And only not podium finished in one of those. That’s one hell of one impressive track record.

If you read some articles you will understand that this is not enough to be great, in another thread some people already think that Alinka is "done"

Zenskate answered them very well ))

I love this first photo so much.

If you pretend the random people in the background aren't there, this photo could be a Renaissance painting...or a movie poster...or something . Also every time Alina has this intense look in her eye, you can just tell that she is going to kill it on the ice.

16 days until GPF!

Oh god thank you for this!!!

This is so funny, that guy really was on a mission, I'm glad he didn't upset the skaters.

After Alina passed by "unnoticed" Eteri came over to talk to him and I bet she said something like "what's the big deal, please don't upset her right before her skate".

It was not like the skaters warming up by the sides were staring at the skater currently on the ice and whispering a spell to jinx their boots.

She asked him if "Paul Blart Mall Cop" was his favorite movie. :p

On November 23, the "Khrustalny" skating rink celebrates its 15th anniversary. We will see gala programs of Olympic champion Alina Zagitova, world junior champion Alexandra Trusova, winners of Junior Grand Prix Alena Kostornaya and Anna Shcherbakova

:yahoo: the event of the season so far!

I hope they will announce on this event that Sambo-70 school is building a new training facility. If this decision is finally made, well this event for them is perfect to celebrate a new ice rink. This is something Eteri and many other FS coaches have been asking for some time now. Their choreography hall (aka conditioning/PT room) is so tiny, a lot of office spaces and locker rooms are smallish and basically in the semi-basement level in the old Khrustalny.

I say: dear Sambo-70 boss, please use your connections with Moscow mayor and build a new FS training facility somewhere closer to the center of Moscow. I hope they finally find a spot for a new building. This event is a great opportunity to invite city mayor and twist his arm a bit for such announcement. ;) If they have a chance for a new facility - 15th aniversary of Krhustalny is perfect time and place to take a shot for that. Leave Khrustalny for hockey players and move somewhere nicer (to Luzhniki for instance)! Ask mayor that it is enough of skyscrapers, parks, malls and real estate. Build something now for the kids who train so hard!

I mean, c'mon.. For example Irina Viner was able to get herself a sweet land right right at the Luzhniki in the closest distance to the biggest soccer stadium and the biggest Olympic cluster of Russia. Just in 5-15 minutes walking distance to 3 subway lines and 3 major highways. Convenient to all athletes and coaching stuff to commute to. Inside infrastructure and functionality of the building looks great. A great prime location. And the building is marvelous - it looks like golden ribbon.

A lot of architectural photos here: https://archi.ru/projects/russia/12...tiki-imeni-iriny-viner-usmanovoi-v-luzhnikakh

I guess it is true that Viner is a influential powerful woman, its probably borderline impossible nowadays to get that kind of a land lot in the very heart of Moscow. They are nearly completing the construction of this new facility for her kids now. Just under a year, year and a half. With a pause of WC Russia-2018. Scroll down for a slideshow with 27 photos of this future training facility: https://stroi.mos.ru/stadiony-moskv...imnastiki-iriny-vinier-usmanovoi-v-luzhnikakh

Sambo-70, Eteri, all coaches and their stuff need the same FS academy in Luzhniki too! Just on the other side of park around the Luzhniki stadium. Figure skating ladies and their coaches are working their butts off as hard as Viner gymnasts. Therefore they need their new nice building as well. I call it to be fair. Where do we sign a petition for a new good training facility for Eteri & Co? New facility could accommodate more coaches, stuff and skaters for Eteri..

Let's make something like this happen to Eteri&Co too: https://archi.ru/projects/russia/image_large.html?id=265891

This is like a small rehearsal for the tough rivalry upcoming skating season 2019-2020.

The decision was already made in October, the Moscow mayor approved the construction of a new ice arena with an area of 22000 square meters for Sambo 70 (for comparison, Viner building is 24000 square meters )..the skating rink will be built in the same district , not far away of Khrustalny.

and, of course,Irina Viner is billionaire, she can have anything, all what she wants)))

I hope they get a new rink to accommodate their growing school, seeing recent photos from CSKA Figure Skating I can see that they are all packed with young skaters. Figure skating is huge in Russia, and they develop their talent super well, its only fair that such an important school as the one that Sambo 70 has gets an appropriate new venue.

Come on Russia, it is paying off big time already, your athletes are loved worldwide. The Japanese TV alone has been to Moscow more times than it has been to NY this year, speaking of which, I’m looking forward to the new piece they are cooking on Alina (filmes recently) that also features other skaters in her group.

Alina will now have a chance to fight with hair band and coat zipper in a new gala event right at home. I hope we get to see videos of this, every Alina Croft performance or rehearsal is a “world heritage event” and should be treasured and seen by all.

I hope she has fun with her rink mates.

The event of the season! Do you have a link to this announcement or article?

She have a 12 seconds for band and zipper fight .. it’s enough to make a coffee))) but we already know, this is Alina with her "staff problem as usual "

Can I have a link for that? I can translate from Russian myself. I need at least official title, so I can find it on zakupki.gov.ru

Oh, well. The old location is not that great. Luzhniki or somewhere near skyscraper and reconstructed downtown area would be much better. :(

Irina Viner is billionaire, she can have anything, all what she wants)))

Well, afaik she and her husband invested in facebook, twitter and such when not a lot of people believed in it. They were at the very beginning of social networks as smart and aggressive investors. Yeah, she is building a lot of nice facilities for her gymnasts kids. But even for her money to get prime location like Luzhniki is not that easy, one need not just an ear of city major, but someone in the Office too.

I hope at least they build something nice for Eteri & Co. They are building hockey center and training facilities in Sokolniki: https://www.s-bc.ru/news/new-sokolniki-gutnov-mapic.html Sokolniki is much better location than current Sambo-70. Why Eteri and her prodigies have to be on the south-western outskirts of the city? Any way, we will post updates on progress of this new building for Eteri later in her thread here.

Cmon, Alex, please do not compare Eteri and Viner ))
Nobody gives a good land in a center of Moscow for ice rink ,
could you imagine state ice rink near Central park in NYC ?? ))

There’s actually a skating rink in Central Park, seasonal only works in winter.

Wollmans rink where you can have a full NY experience by fighting with strangers, feeling overcrowded, being pushed, falling on your behind and being told off by staff for the very NYorker price of $12 on weekdays and $19 on weekends for an adult to do a single ride. And if you just want to watch all said above happening, we got you covered for $5 to be an expectador.

My dream is to bring Alina here where I’ll pay her unlimited rides just to watch her do people slalom on one foot and run away from the staff. Then when we have had our fill I’d take her to the rink at Bryant Park (also Midtown Manhattan) that’s just as crowded but it’s free to use so we can continue our fun.
