Alina Zagitova

To be honest I was pleasantly surprised by the comments on youtube (yes, I didn't resist again). There was very few purely negative comments under every video of her skate I saw (at least till yesterday evening), most were very supportive. I hope this endure for long.

And yes, Alina speaking english is so cute. It's not the first time I heard her, in one of her periscope videos from I believe some JGP event she was at hotel restaurant and said some basic words to the staff (thank you etc.)

Well at least until this "migraine-inducing minority" get their talking points from the TSL boys.

Wow guys! Alina's gala performance gave me chills, it inspires so much power and determination! I am in awe, seeing her huge improvement in speed and skating skills, she skates in full power! 3 major competitions still to come, and this program is like a warning: I am a survivor and I won't ever give up! I can totally see Alina performing her best, clean skates, at all these events! She already said in her interview how great she feels in Japan, acclimatization is easier, the sun shines and she is so loved there.

Thank you so much egoshina for your huge effort to translate this interview. Alina has grew a lot, she is defending herself and supporting her point of view. Still calm, gentle and sincere, but not taking any B* from anyone. Gotta love this girl :luv17:

That football commentator should go back to football and leave 16 years old Olympic Champions alone. Also I am very thankful for the ignore function from GS, I used it a lot during the past days and I will continue to do so because reading insulting and defamatory comments it's really upsetting. This fanfest is the best place to be, not only because everyone is supporting and loving Alina, but also speaks kindly about all the other skaters. They are all working very hard, so no one deserves such words.

That's how she sounds in Russian too. Pretty much the same childish tone and naive cute intonations.

She has the cutest little voice! I remember a video from maybe two years ago with Ted Barton where she very quietly says 'thank you' at the end. I honestly don't think I had such a cute voice as a 14 year old, let alone a 16.5 year old.

the end:
The Japanese prefecture of Akita has become the second region of the country of the rising sun in terms of the number of requests on the Internet.
- The Japanese prefecture of Akita seems to be trying to increase interest in itself with the help of your and Masaru popularity.
- Yes, I read it. When I walk with Masaru, everyone asks: what breed? I think that in Russia Akita Inu will become popular. I quite often meet such dogs in Moscow.
- Can you imagine what will happen at the Olympics in 2022 in Beijing?
- This is a very funny question. I don’t know what will happen tomorrow. Even at the start of 2018 we didn’t know who would go to the Olympics.
- How’s that possible? Zagitova and Medvedeva, and vacancy for the third place.
- I was not so sure before the RusNats. I think at RusNats 2022 only we will be clear who will go to Beijing. And don’t forget about injuries.

hopefully, I made google translate a little bit clearer in places, but do let me know if there are some funny/unclear things left :)

I want to thank you for that long and interesting interview with the Olympic champion. Alina confirmed she and Zhenya were never BFFs only friends. I used to joke around that they were best friends but that was not the case. it's kind of sad that they don't communicate anymore but that's not because of Alina. I remember after the Olympics someone in the Russian media ask Alina if her relationship with Medvedeva would change because she beat her for the Olympic gold medal and Alina answered she hoped not. But she knew it would change. It did.

Hope her foot injury does not linger. That is scary after what Zhenya went through last year.

Hope she is healthy for nationals. it will be like a mni olympics for the Russian ladies.

Tiffany my English teacher

Do you share a room with anyone?
- Either I live alone, or with Tiffany Zagorski. I love living with her. This is such a sunny person, you can talk with her on any topic. This is first, and secondly, she is an adult, experienced athlete, she shares with me life things, her experiences, impressions. Well, what matters is that she is a dancer, and I am in single . We do not compete with each other .

- What language do you speak with her?
- In Russian. Sometimes she starts to speak English and I remind her: Tiffany, have you forgotten that I do not speak English? But you can say that she is my English teacher. She is very calm , so when I get nervous, she calms me down. Before the competition is very good.

Not sure what competition this is from?
Can't be GPF because I see M. Kolyada in the pictures.
Maybe Rostelecom?????

Hearing Alina speak English was awesome! She is so adorable!

I have heard of that place and from that... I don't go there, I have never been there, and I am never going there. :scard7:

What the-? Shippers? Never mind I don't want to know. :dumb: Poor Alina, she has trolls attacking her and crazy shippers. :palmf:

I might be wrong, but I think they are mostly harmless. At least from what I have seen.

Of course there will always be some 'crazies' (fans, shippers, anti-fans, whatever) because it's the internet.

Here is my thoughts on this "Utkin" character.
I believe EdRoz said he was a football commentator.

I don't know if he is trying to be a "shock jock" like some of our "finer" sportscasters in the USA.
But by picking on a 16 year old girl he has failed miserably.

I hope this was just a one-time thing.
If not, I know what my next step would be if I were Alina's father.

Utkin might consider himself fortunate that Alina's father is now coaching a youth league hockey team instead of the Izhvesk hockey team. He might also consider himself fortunate that Moscow is very far away from Izhvesk and the city that her father is now working. I'm kidding. Sort of.

Both of Alina's parents (and every other member of Alina's family!) have shown an amazing amount of pure class, grace and restraint in situations where anyone might have been tempted to say something in anger. If I am impressed by Alina's character I am even more so impressed by her family.

What you put out into the world comes back to you. If you are a public figure with a public platform, then that is doubly true. Utkin is just begging to be harassed to 'prove his point'. If he figured he could bait fans into getting angry, then mission accomplished.

And once again Nathan and Alina frustrate shippers by not standing next to each other in the gala finale group photo for the second time! :laugh2:

How can they possibly be in an a r/s when she really can’t speak English & they live on different continents, not to mention the age difference.

Because Tiffany speaks russian very well? Because they meet often at competitions?

Another silly questions?

Thank you so much for the long translation, egoshina!
Alina is so honest in interviews :scratch2: Someone needs to teach her to dissemble.

- Alina, and what question would you like to answer yourself?
- Interesting. "How is Masaru?" The answer is: well. Interview over? - Alina said with a laugh.

Thoughtful of Alina to keep the world updated about her puppy
