Alina Zagitova

Whas that the appartment she lives in? OMG She is the reigning Olympic Champion.

If Alina was American or Japanese she would have a big home and I mean a house not an apartment and she would have millions of dollars in the bank. But shes Russian and still lives in a shoebox apartment. Its disappointing but Alina is comfortble with her living situation. No doubt about it.

Does she sleep in the same room with her grandmother? There are only three doors (one bedroom, kitchen, bathroom?)?!

Alina should not hurry, buying a good new apartment in Moscow is a big investment for such a young girl

I checked now-even this old 1 room apartment ,near the metro station, costs 100 000 euros

a new 4 rooms apartment not far away from this place costs 450 000 Eur

Today she said — I am patriot, but she is not Tom Brady for sure))

I think it is not of matter of money cause she earned enough even for a house (from Olympic prizes and sponsorships), but just an option for the moment. Maybe her parents consider that she is more motivated to continue to skate if she still there. Or maybe they didnt have enough time to go on house hunting.

Isn't her apartment a very short distance away from the rink?

I know for me that would be a big factor in wanting to stay there.

Location. Location. Location.

A nice flat is not a panacea. There are more important things in life. If RusFed want's can rent her a better flat. Most of students and young people leave in similar conditions in big cities around the world, it's not a big deal. Probably her parent's have different priorities.

I dont understand how a young girl as Alina says that she doesnt have friends (if I understood correctly form her latest interview).
She seems to have a friendly nature (although maybe shy with new people), but still...

I love this! I've worn Puma for many many years and I'm wearing Puma sneakers right now as I write this on my tablet microphone! I'm happy that Alina Zagitova is getting this Puma endorsement. Cool. Hopefully Irska can become a Puma cat now! But that may not happen because he's not sleek enough to be the Puma cat. ;)

Maybe with a haircut and some gel.

Meow!

She may mean a really close friend. Someone she can confide in, etc....

She certainly gets along well with people....
Other skaters, small children, Prime Ministers, Japanese TV hosts, and even a few GS posters who have been lucky enough to meet her.

She received a big apartment in her home town, Izhevsk, as a gift from the municipality and sponsors. The pictures from New Year didn't look gloomy at all. Moscow is expensive and probably in her head she is just training there, not living permanently. I remember an interview where she said that every holiday her parents ask her where she wants to go and she always says "Lets stay in Izhevsk".

I like that she is sensible and rents a small apartment at a walking distance from the rink. She lives there only with her grandmother, so it doesn't have to be big. And she is still very young, now is the time to focus on work, not home ownership :-) She will have plenty of opportunities to buy and make her own home once she is older and has children, etc. With her crazy schedule right now I cannot imagine her finding the time to research, buy and furnish a flat in Moscow, even if money is not an issue.

But there is just a very small entrance to the appartment and then three doors. Alina's bedroom, kitchen and her grandmother's bedroom. Is the bathroom on the hallway or is the bathroom in the appartment and she has to share the bedroom with her grandmother?

Sorry, I was just a little shocked by seeing these living conditions since she has probably earned enough money to buy a small, but better appartment (or to rent another appartment).

5 minute walk to Khrustalny :hap57: or spend money for better temporary apartment

She have a grandma, bad , bathroom, kitchen, dog/cat
and she still a young and humble do not to think much about luxury

So what. I've made comments on this account already so just a brief review. I live in Prague and like 30 % of population here live in similar flats. A friend of mine lived in a similar flat with his mother till he finished university. If you live most of the day on ice rink/in the gym/hotel room like Alina, you don't have so high requirements for your living conditions. When Alina will be planning a family, it will be different topic, but for now having a bigger flat would only mean having some spare rooms for more air and furniture covered with sheets (and much higher costs).

Zagitova is probably perfectly fine with her living conditions while in Moscow. She has her babushka, her pets around her, and her parents and close friends are only a Skype call away.

I think she spends most of her waking hours at Sambo-70, either training, relaxing, resting or socialising with the other athletes training in the complex.
No doubt there is a nice cafetaria, a game room with games like darts, billiard, ping pong, a computer room with Playstation etc. Even a study room in case you want to do some homework or school assignment.
Plus of course lounges to rest or to watch television on comfy couches, and private resting rooms to take a healthy power nap after lunch.

Given her fame and the fact that she is young, beautiful and desirable I think she has grown wary of meeting strange people uninvited. Almost everybody will want something from her, not to mention inappropriate 'male attention' coming her way.
I wouldn't be surprised is she is actually chauffeured around instead of having to use public transport and has some unobtrusive professional guard service protecting her apartment and movements at times like these.

Being Olympic Champion in such a high profile sport is a lonely existence and Alina will probably feel more at ease the company of other sportspersons and past Olympians for they understand each other.

Loss of privacy is the high price all celebrities have to pay and that makes most of them very glad when they can finally leave the spotlight and be a normal person again.

I for one hope Alina still finds the calm, time and energy to draw and paint and express herself in an artistic way, perhaps letting part of her soul emerge in her art.
