She’s in excellent condition! And people are seriously suggesting that she’s injured and needs to retire?? What nonsense.
I’ll be looking forward to her programs at Worlds! She’s a champion and I know she’ll be great
People are suggesting she is injure and need to retire or at least take a break during WCH (this says it all), only because they don't like her. Ok maybe she is doing quite a lot mistakes, but she is still winner. Sofia and Liza compete with her a few times this year and she beat them by margin, she was beaten only at ECH where she really struggle. Her scores are still the highest from Russian ladies. But you know what guys, all those heaters mean that she is succesful. People who are not succesful don't have them. And I'm convince that she is able to do two clean programs. If she really won't be, then they will make it easier. She must be able to do it in training pretty well. Eteri is maybe strict and push them to do hard things, but only because she knows they are able to do it. I think her struggles come from mind mostly. It's hard to be suddenly Olympic Champion for much older athletes then she is. Many of them admitt that they strugledd a lot or it takes them a years. It's so much worse then only succesful debut season. Exceptations are huge, also she herself want all those people around her make happy, her body changed a lot. But she is still there, she is fighting, and from all her stories and photos which come out, to me, she seems in quite a happy mood, and that combo in her stories look pretty huge (and I guess it was 3 different! 3 jumps?). I'm looking forward to Worlds.

She won this award last year too, they presented it to her at the Sambo Birthday party event (she probably wasn’t available to receive it then and the people at the rink picked it up for her).

Congratulations, sweet Alina
For the great award, and also for officially being named (ofc not surprising) in the Russian Worlds Team. As the best and highest scoring russian skater, it is no surprise, but I think it will calm down some of her fans who were "worried" about this. Also, I hope Masaru will also go, I wonder if some of the politicking from this selection also involved Masaru's presence.
