Alina Zagitova

And something else.... i didn't follow closely Tessa and Scott and Charlie and Meryl at their time, and I don't know much about the existing comments.
But I suppose they all were already grown-ups, not teens.... they all knew who they are, and what they want. When you're a teen it's much easier to be confused and lost reading all these comments about you, you don't even know what you really like for real.
And Evgenia... when you look to Evgenia you see a confident, level-headed and trustworthy person, that will do everything right.

Interesting point about Evgenia and I agree with you she's a confident level-headed trustworthy person. So is Alina Zagitova. Lets let Alina grow up her way. She will be fine.

I think Alina will enjoy being a role model to her beautiful little sister and all the girls at Sambo-70. I just can't see this beautiful girl having the same issues and problems that Oksana Baiul Yulia lipnitskaya and Adelina sotnikova had as teenagers.

I don't know, I hope you're right, but I don't have the same trust in Alina as in Evgenia.
This summer will be decisive for her, when it comes to growing both mentally and physically.
I hope she was serious when she said that she will focus on skating and then, after career ending, on relationships. And not something she was taught about and doesn't truly believe in. Anyway, her career ending might be very soon, like in one season. Then everything will be about Trusova, Kostornaya, Scherbakova and maybe someone else unknown at this moment.

We don't know what's going to happen. That's the fascinating part of all this and seeing how Alinas career and life will unfold in the future. Will she be motivated by Sasha and Alena to learn quads and a triple axel? I think so I hope so. But Alina has suffered a broken leg and a broken arm figure skating so maybe learning more dangerous moves will scare her or intimidate her. I don't think it's going to go like that because to me Zagitova is a little Tigress very fierce and very determined. I think she will want to compete against those great young juniors .

But no matter what happens the rest of her career I will be a fan because Alina has great skill great charm and is very very sweet. The media will continue to link her with this guy or that guy don't be fooled by that Madison. They are just rumours and gossip.

Maybe because I was invested in her and had bigger expectations.

Bigger expectations? She's a beautiful girl a sweet girl and Olympic champion at age 15. There is nothing more that Alina zagitova could have done in her life to this point except maybe save the world! Again Madison don't be tricked by the media and photographs and rumors and gossip. To me Zagitova has shown the utmost respect to her coaches her teammates and her fans. I have not seen a misstep for her at all. I think you are a great fan of hers and I hope it stays that way Madison.

I don't know if you followed her, but I did from the beginning of the season and I lived with her every struggle and moment she had.
It's not just this moment with Nathan, she has a history of this kind, starting with Vogue shooting, shipping her with Nathan, Javier, the hockey player, even Shoma... what's next? It's just too much for me to read almost every week about Alina and a different man..
She can't even communicate with all of this mans. And do you know why? Because she can't speak any other languages except russian and maybe tatar.
We see what we want to see.

The language of love is universal lol... I'm joking :)))
But for sure the likes on IG are universal

It's normal for any teenager to have a crush. Or crushes. It's part of being 15. Sometimes Likes and follows on IG are nothing more than just Likes and follows of someone you admire. Sometimes they are more, but I think they are mostly harmless.

Alina doesn't have a 'normal' teenage social life or a 'normal' high school experience, and she won't as long as she is skating competitively. It is healthy for her to have fun on tour and have friendships with other teenagers who can understand her life experience because they are also living a similar one.

Yes, fans on IG can be ridiculous. They are going to 'ship' her with other skaters. It's what they do. There is no time like the present for Alina to practice ignoring all the silly stuff on the internet. It might be useful later in life.

As for Alina not being up to Zhenya's maturity level, that is to be expected. Even Zhenya 'became' who she is today over time. Alina is only 15. Who knows who she may turn out to be? I love the fact that she is still enough of a child to light up over a gift of a stuffed akita toy during an interview.

I wasn't trying to make excuses. It's ok if we see things differently :)

Everyone enjoys the experience of being a fan in their own way.

For me, Alina brought back my joy of being invested in a skater again. (Unfortunately this went hand in hand with the heartbreak of seeing her have a bad skate.) We 'worry' because we care and want the best for her. And that means we won't always be happy fans.

I'm grateful to have this thread to keep up with things and discuss with other fans.

This is the problem. You cannot be a calm fan with her... This season was really tough for her, but also for her fans.
Sometimes, I want her to be as Evgenia. Evgenia gives you trust: trust that she'll skate well, trust that she'll do the right things in any situation.
But Alina is not like that at all, she is emotionally fragile, confused, demonstrative in her gestures and versatile (sometimes is modest, sometimes is precious, sometimes is shy, sometimes is gutsy).

As I said before, even Evgenia became Evgenia. Alina has a different character but this is her first senior season and she is only 15 with so little life experience. Who knows who she could turn out to be?

We learn more from our mistakes and failures than our successes and victories. Alina is learning a lot that will help her on journey she is on in this life.

I'd rather appreciate Alina for everything that she is, as a person and a skater, and enjoy watching everything she is becoming, than wish she was something more, better or different.

I certainly don't think she is perfect as a skater or even a 15 year old. And if she was I probably wouldn't be as interested in her. Our flaws can be the best part of us (as people, certainly does not apply to skating!)

Alina is all those things you mentioned. Modest precious shy and gutsy. She wouldn't have gotten where she is if she wasn't a gutsy girl. So let's give her some time to grow she's only 15.

Who do you think she could turn out to be? Having a family who let her posing as she posed in Vogue and having as a model Alina Kabaeva?

I couldn't say. Alina will have to write that story herself. I'm just here to see how it unfolds and wishing her the best in all things personal and professional.

Can we all please give Alina and her family a free pass for the Vogue photo shoot? We don't know for a fact that anyone in her family had any kind of final approval or that they even saw that photo before it was published in the magazine.

And in all fairness there are many things that Zagitova could find admirable about Kabaeva that have nothing to do with her life choices.

That was a one time thing in Vogue. And she was named after Alina Kabaeva it doesn't mean she's going to be like her. Other than being an Olympic champion that is.

Not only that she was named after Alina Kabaeva, but her role model is Kabaeva.
Usually, people follow their role models and want to become as them form all point of views.

WTH????????
You are insulting her family now?
1 - You don't know her
2 - You don't know her family
3 - From all things I have seen (interview competitions etc) she seems to be intelligent, gracious to fellow competitors and her coaches, soft-spoken and an animal lover - so I guess her family must have done something right

I didn't want to respond to this ongoing discussion but your post was just all kinds of wrong.

When I saw there were about 3 new pages on this thread I was hoping to find all kinds of pics, videos and reports from the Ice Show in Japan - not something like this :palmf:

Let's fix this immediately! Come on people, bring some stuff over! I want to see those things too!

Her role model is also Evgenia Medvedeva! So everything should be fine!

We will see. Only time will tell. Alina is a good person and an animal lover and a great figure skater let's see how historically great she can become. Like you said earlier this summer is a big summer for Alina Zagitova. When it's all said and done Madison you won't regret being a big fan of hers from when she was a great junior to a great senior level figure skater. I seriously doubt she will have the problems that other young stars have.
